Yeah it does look much nicer , I got the proper bushings I found installed, just trying to get the dang nut on the shaft so I can tighten it up. Theres so little room down there. Part of me want to yank out the fresh air ducting, as I have no intention of ever using it, heck I plan on shaving the cowl vents anyway, so the ducts would be worthless at that point.

Finally! Got the pedal nut on. Pedal is much tighter with those bushings. Here's a better shot of the pedals, notice teh wiring hanging, that's my current task. P.S. I think I need a new gas pedal pad to make it not look crappy lol

Here's a shot of the shifter now that the console is out.

D'oh I found out what half the holes in the dash were/are for. The Cd player bracket had 4 holes in it and they line up perfectly with 4 of the holes in the dash. I may go ahead and get some bolts and mount it there as the bracket doesn't fit the radio spot too well. I may stick the old radio back in for the time being to fill the hole

I replaced my gas pedal for the same reason too. It looked terrible against the new interior.

You can trim the factory Radio molding to hold the new din style radios pretty easy. Thats how I did mine.

Def need to get a new gas pedal.

Yeah, I thought about ordering a repro bezel and cutting it up. I don't wanna chop up the original, someone might want it.

I actually have a better pic of how I ended yesterday. Kinda fuzzy, sorry.

I use lots of Plastidip on the Wifes Impreza. I think I may Plastidip my taillight panel here though. I don't think it'll work well at all for the gas pedal tho.

It amazes me how thin some of the transmission crossmembers are.

OK, I got the trans mount today. I need to get the bolts that mount the trans to the mount and the nuts for the mount to the crossmember.

Started cleaning up the transmission. Looks a bit better then it did before. Pics to come soon!

I got the bolts and nuts to mount the transmission.

I also took apart the trans. It looks great on the inside, at least to me. I still wanna run it by a shop to get a professional opinion before I get it in my car.

I also scored a used Pro 5.0 shifter on ebay for pretty cheap. Just need to get a handle and I'll be good to go!

Still not sure. I'd like to get it accomplished here in October. Until i physically get all the parts and confirm they all fit and don't require any additional hardware I can't really set a date. I do still to order my cable kit so I can get that hooked up and mounted. Once I get that done I can plan a weekend to install the transmission itself. I don't think that will take much time at all, since I'd already hsave the pedal and cable mounted, I would just need to adjust it.

Got another couple boxes in today! One was my pressure plate and bellhousing to block bolts. The other had my shifter assembly:

Untitled by Edgethis, on Flickr

Just waiting on my clutch cable kit and I need to figure out which handle to order. I was all set on a hurst 4106 as that seems to be the one everyone recommends, but them on CJPP website I saw they offer a conversion handle just for 65-73 with a T5. I can't make out the whole part number, but it is different from the 4106.

Getting close. How long did the disc brake swap take you? Mine will be here tomorrow.

The front disc swap took me about a solid days worth. I also had to install a new pedal and the power booster. Made a huge difference in braking power.

I haven't got very much done lately, the weather here has been crappy whenever I have time off. I think that I am just gonna take the transmission up to a shop and let them give it a look and assemble it for me. I tried putting it together and I just can't seem to get it to go together correctly, so before I break something I figure I'll let a shop do it.

I did get my cable clutch kit in this weekend! I really don't wanna have to pull my master cylinder and booster to drill the damn hole. I may hold off on doing that as I want to do the rear disc swap too. Using 04 Cobra calipers and 11.65" rotors, so if I have to bleed lines, I'd rather only do it once.

I did get another part for my man cave this weekend, too! I have a number of other prints with the Elvis, Monroe, Dean, Bogart group.

I'd dread pulling the booster off again too. Luckily this time I just have to swap out the master cylinder. I may attempt the swap this weekend if nothing comes up.

I like the print!

Well bad news, Yesterday while tooling around town I blew the gasket out between the water pump and the plate/timing cover. I was able to limp it home thought. I already have a new pump ready for pickup and the old pump off. It was gushing out.

Changing the water pump is such a messy job. I also find it a pita since you have to remove all the accessory brakets to get it off. Which water pump did you go with?

Luckily I only run an alternator so I didn't have to remove much. I was even able to leave my radiator and elect fan in.

I swapped it out with the Premium el-cheapo from Advance auto. Same as the one already on there. I'd like to get a sweet aluminum one someday, just can't get over how much more expensive they are.
