I just surpassed 51,000 on my '03. This car has been babied since new, and probably will be until the end of The Nunn Legacy. But I never once thought to garage her up and keep her as is. Hell, the Pony Package was only sold for 2 years nationwide. 2003 was the only year it came with the running pony decal under the door, and was the first year the package was offered nationwide after being a Florida-only sold package for 2001 and 2002. Meaning I have quite a rare (rare by V6 standards) V6 package. But I had the car repainted with a non-factory color, the decals removed, and the Pony Package exclusive wheels replaced with aftermarket Bullit replicas. I drive it daily, and it's now my work vehicle because I'm now a delivery driver.

By the way, how do you figure out what production number your car is? Because there's 1,577 of the Pony Package throughout 2002 and 2003, and I was wondering where mine fell into that.

Thank you, Mach Stang for the sig!

Honestly if your saving a car to give it to someone later on in life, dont DD it.
I got my step-dads car, he took great care of it, but its got 170k miles and is just too much of a pain now. Its needing parts replaced and becoming a money sync. If he had only put 60-70k on it, it would be awesome. But now its costing me money that could be used to mod or even save up for a new one.

Funny, because every time you talk about *driving* it, you talk about how much you don't like it due to ride quality from the drop.

I am not certain you are talking about me, because not only have I never complained about the ride, and never drive it to know. LOL

I have said that people should expect Mustangs to ride like shit compared to more expensive cars and Cadillacs and such.

I am certain that stiffness in my ride that I described in the past was do to the switch from 18 to 20s because the FRPP makes the car handle very very well. The ride was definitely nicer on 18s.

AND, who said I needed to drive the car to enjoy it?

It don't make much difference if you put 1k miles a year on it or 10k, since its just a shelby gt the value will continue to drop every year.

Negged, for a stupid opinion that has absolutely nothing to do with the thread.

My point was you value a car that wont be worth 8k in 10 years. I know a guy that has a 93 cobra with 4k miles and he just sold it for 33k. A 29 year old car sold for more than the day he bought it, yours will never increase in value so why treat it like its a collector car? Just wondering but in the end its your car, do what you want, I could care less if you went out and set it on fire.

Thanks for the neg, I returned the love.

Thank for the neg, as you can tell I have much to spare!

I don't treat it like a collector car. I treat it like a showcar, and I like to win trophies and working 60+ hours a week I don't have time to get it ready for sunday shows if I were to DD the car, nor would it maintain the type of cleanliness needed to win the shows I win.

And newsflash. Most car lose 50% of their value in 3 years, hence the reason that most 3 year leases have a residual value in the 50ish% range.

Sticker on my car was 42K and they can still be found online selling from 25 to 30 with low mileage so that means they have retained 55-70 percent of their value in 7 model years.

That is way above average.

EDIT: If I was treating as a collector car, would I be modding the shit out of it. NOPE It would be completely stock like the one in my original post. Dipshit

Rzn, if he drove his car off a bridge would you as well?

I like to give you shit, but completely understand your stance and as I have said before its you car that you paid for, do the maintenance on, and put money into so I dont know why it matters to so many people what you do with your car.
