I've got work and a bunch of extended family stuff going on this weekend.
So, today I went to the graduation ceremony for a few friends. This is the 4th year in a row I've gone, including my own, and 6th over all, all at this particular school, held in this same auditorium and it has always had shortage of seating, and people have had to lean on the railing of the upper section of the auditorium. Usually the people who get there last get stuck there.
Well, I got there plenty early to secure a parking spot, but I decided, me being here completely alone, I was just going to go ahead and stand, leaving plenty of room for large families, etc. So I carefully choice a spot that I didn't think I'd be blocking anyones view.
Well, evidently I was wrong, as not even 2 minutes in to the ceremony, so asshole starts smacking my back repeatedly and told me to move. Pissed off, I moved to the side, and a woman I apparently stepped in front of goes "Ugh, great, now he's just gonna stand there". So I said fuck it and sat down (but not before telling the asshole that slapped my back that he was a rude asshole)
After sitting down and looking around, I realized the turnout was significantly lower than any other year I've attended, and no one was required to lean against the rails.
But it pisses me off. How hard is it to politely ask someone to sit down or move? I would have happily obliged. Instead he had to make the situation unpleasant.
Fucking rude people.
