7.3s will keep goin for a long time to come. most you need to do is a dp tuner, muffler delete, 6637 filter from napa, and gauges. I have 210k on mine, had to rebuild the tranny but thats about it. A regulated return from riffraff is a good idea too. helps longevity of the injectors and makes the drive ability so much nicer. its like driving a car, no turbo lag around town.

Also, its probably just a preference thing, but my friend has a 6.0 6 speed and he fuckin hates driving it around in town shifting all the time. but hes a tiny guy, probably wears him out, haha. I wouldnt mind having a 5-6 speed in mine though.

Everyone told me I was going to hate the 6spd in my 6.7, and I was nervous I'd hate it in the stop and go driving, but it has really grown on me. I have had to do lots of city driving, and I wasn't any more pissed off than I was with an auto. Plus with all that diesel torque to creep around all you have to do was just let out the clutch.

And it was 10x better out in the country. Rolling hills are tons of fun, I love using the exhaust brake to slow it down. Plus I racked up 19.5MPG on a 200mi trip through hills over the weekend. I thought that was damn impressive for a stock truck.

I have a 97 PSD... actually this is my third... Its a Crew Cab long bed white 4x4... unfortunatly its an auto... I have a 5 speed for it but none of the parts for it.

I love these things... I had a regular cab, extended cab dually, and then this thing... Miss all of them.

This one has 165 K on it, my regular cab had 240K on it when I sold it to my buddy, and my dually was 127 K.

For a daily driver I would never get a truck that had a plow on it....

Also the OBS trucks like mine the F250s have Dana 50 TTB axles, and the F350s have solid Dana 60s... The 50s wear out and cost a lot to fix...

Too bad you live in PA most everything is a rust bucket... If you have questions about the OBS trucks let me know, I know way too much about them.

^exactly!! Im trying to look at southern trucks for that reason...anything from VA, NC, or WV is usually pretty clean.

200 K miles doesnt scare me at all... if taken care of these will go 400+ make sure regular oil changes on a 7.3 and fuel filter every other oil change and they are very very reliable.

Im really liking that turquoise one that I posted...I have been texting the guy back and forth and I told him I would call at 4ish...if its always been a southern truck (its in VA now) I dont see any reason why it wouldnt be clean frame wise...the interior looks well taken care of too...
