Saw This Today...

Tesla Model S. Went to an enormous mall in Toronto with my daughter today, and lo and behold as we were trundling around we trundled across this. Do want.

Sorry for the shitty iFone pics... wasn't expecting to see something this cool, so I didn't have a camera with me.

Sweet car. I worked for a company that built the automated robots that carry the bare frames around the Tesla factory. I was the electrical tech that wired the first one they sent out.

Tesla was so happy with our vehicles they sent reps out and gave us a pizza party lol. Small gesture, but its a lot more than any other company had ever done. Thats why I have a lot of respect for their company. They seem to be a really well run place. I talked to a few of their engineers too.

I quit that company to go to school full time.

Absolutely. I can't wait to see what the future holds for this company. The big Model S performance version is a hundred thousand dollar car, but they are coming out with a smaller, midsize model that is going to be 30-40K dollars and still have amazing range. Plus they are expanding their supercharging network... and are hoping to have charges down to 40 minutes soon. It's pretty fucking amazing if you ask me.

It really is. I HATE all electric cars.......that was until I talked to Tesla and looked in to some of their stuff. They do a really good job and I would LOVE to have a Tesla car. They just seem like they are leaps and bounds ahead of anyone else developing electric cars.

Give them 10 years and I bet you see a lot of 20-30K Tesla cars on the road.

Yeah man. I felt similarly. I mean why not have the best of both worlds? Badass muscle car in one parking spot, badass DD electric car that uses zero gas in the other.

If I remember correctly, electric motors deliver Torque instantly..... There is no "winding up the RPM's" like a gasoline motor.

That's sick.

That is correct. The Tesla Model S performance car goes zero to sixty in 4.2 seconds. And yes, there is no 'rpm torque curve' to worry about... it doesn't matter where or when you stomp on the throttle, it is just an instant gush of forward thrust without any buildup.

Not at all. I will say when you first sit in it, it's like "Holy. Sweet. Fuck. I'm out!"

But within 10 seconds of their rep showing me a few moves... you understand that not only is it SUPER easy to figure out and use... it's a boat load of fuckin fun to play with.

There are different battery sizes of the same car, right? That's what makes them perform better, I think.
