I love threads about people getting ticketed for breaking the law and getting angry about it.

It's about the officers safety at night. Not because they're trying to make money or any other reason.

That was definitely edited in after my post lol. I still don't get it though... I see cops cruising with headlights off at night a lot by me. I don't see how they can get away with shit like that. Just saying, cops shouldn't be immune to the law if its in regards to safety. Running a red light is ok I guess only if it's an emergency but how many times do you see a cop do it just because he can? Turning into a rant.

Send a message via Yahoo to EDDIEDOVER
as was stated earlier lets face it officers watch our cars why not just change it to legal tint i had to rip mine off and went with 35 all around doesnt look that bad and if you left rears darker would look better i think
....a razor blade and ammonia based glass leaner will do wonders

35 tint is pretty dark, especially at night. People who are going to do dumb shit are going to do it regardless. I doubt someone willing to shoot a cop would care about the tint law. Im not arguing the intention but I doubt it makes a significant difference.

Rear window usually allows any level of tint, what stops someone from shooting the approaching officer from the rear window?

After having spoken with many officers over the years, I can tell you that they treat people with heavily tinted cars with more suspicion than someone who doesn't.

35% isn't that dark. I had it on my doors for like a week and didn't like it.

BTW, a steamer thingy works wonders for taking tint off

I recently got 15% on mine and the limit here is 70%. My dad is a cop and he was asking me about it. We tried his tint meter on my window the other night, it was spot on 15%. He told me if I get pulled over to say its my dad's car.

I live in DE. I have 5% in the rear and quarter windows, and 18% driver and passenger window. I have never been pulled over for just tint in Delaware or Maryland. Although I also have a tint waiver. :-P

Go to your doctor, tell him you have bad headache's. If you are like me and your doctor tells you bluntly to shove it up your ass, send your girlfriend/wife to her doctor and bam, tint waiver.

Not sure about your state but I've gotten 3 tint repair tickets in NJ over about 4 years and its either fix it and go prove it. Or jump online and pay the 54$ fine and keep ur tint... I'd rather keep paying 50$ a year basically (3 tickets in 4 years) then remove it and pay $200 when I get sick of not having tint.

Definitely look into how ur state works!

Cop pulls you over and writes you a tint ticket, then walks back to his car with 5% tint and drives away. That's how fucked up law enforcement is, no different than organized crime...

I hate when cops spend their own money to customize their police cars with window tint.

As state before, it's a safety precaution for police. I'm sure they approach more potentially dangerous vehicles than you do cops.

How exactly is this anywhere close to being comparable to organize crime?

Also, not all cops have window tint. If I'm not mistaken, K-9 units and UC vehicles are required to have 5%.

Yup, biggest gang in the world and I'm proud to be part of it

The only police cars I have seen with tint around me are undercover/unmarked, and K9, and that is to keep the inside temp down.

Every unmarked car here is tinted to the extreme. It makes me feel unsafe

---------- Post added at 01:54 AM ---------- Previous post was at 01:53 AM ----------

If I gotta avoid by a tint law, everybody does

If I ever get a tint ticket and the cops windows are tinted, I'm gonna grab piece of paper and write him a ticket.
