It's deeeeer season.

Yay.

On a scale of $50-$1000 how much are my insurance rates going to go up? Excuse this if it's in the wrong section but I feel like death. Any input on the total? Going to get a quote tmrw and my deduct is 500.

Well, I had $2200 worth of damage when I hit one, I needed my hood replaced since it was showing fiberglass, headlight(s), passenger fender fixed and repainted, bumper repainted, and that's it.

What exactly happened?

If you have comprehensive cover it shouldn't raise your rates if its more than your deductible. However it will stop any good driving discounts and could be considered a single person collision with you at fault. Your surcharge could be around 30-45% depending on insurance.

Insurance is such a fucking rip off. You pay a shit load per month. When you have an accident you have to pay more. And fuck your rates up after you need to use insurance.

Insurance is licensed theft that may fix your shit for free if someone else fucks it up, but if you do it, holy shit, you just became the worst driver ever.

My hood came out unscathed somehow. The internals of my door are alright(window, etc) so i'm assuming it will be repaird and not replaced?

Headed home from where my grandpa lives and a deer was standing in the opposite lane over a hill (one lane road.) Anddd kabam.
Me the instant I saw the deer:

Appreciate it. Will be going to get a couple quotes tomorrow after class. Realllyyy hoping this doesn't fuck my already ridiculous insurance rates. Really glad I decided to keep my comprehensive coverage.

I was thinking this. lol

Fuck deer though man. Smacked one going 60mph dead center last year and totalled my commuter car. 2 months later ran one over in the Jeep at about 20-fish and the son of a bitch cracked my windshield wiper fluid reservoir. What a random and obscure part... Took months for my lazy ass to fix that.

i've had to pop one after i had hit it. I called a guy and told him where there was a fresh one for him. Did you know it's poaching if you shoot the deer you just hit? Because you know i want to suffer when i know i'm going to die.

That's absurd. Not that it matters because I don't have a gun yet but I kinda feel bad now.
