99 GT Vert Build Thread

So I figured that I would start one of these. Even if nobody views it, I will use it to keep progress of the build. Should be a fairly short build. I would really like to have it finished in the late spring/early summer so here goes:

Alright fellas, I guess I should start with the history of the vehicle. It is a 1999 Mustang GT Convertible Rio Red with a Charcoal Convertible top. The vehicle was purchased at Alton Blakley Ford in Somerset, KY with 82,000 miles in April of 2012. At the time I was driving 100 miles round trip to work and back so I racked up the miles (about 40,000 miles in a year). When I purchased it, all that was done was Flowmaster weld ins, drop in K&N filter, and headlight covers. Nothing at all had been done prior. Since the purchase i have added wheels, CAI, Tune, Headlights, Short Throw shifter, different radio and audio system, and sequential tail lights. The car currently has 130,200 miles and has been promoted from daily driver to weekend warrior.Current mileage a year is about 5,000.

Now for the mods to be added. (If there is something I should change please bring it to my attention since this will be my first FI build.)

I know that I have added just about every nut and bolt that I have bought, but I wanted to do this to show how it adds up quickly and try to show every single item that you might need. Below is a link to an excel spreadsheet that makes this long list of parts a little easier to read.

I purchased the Procharger P1SC, 2 Core Intercooler, Procharger BOV, and a couple of Misc. tubing pieces for $750.00 shipped to my doorstep on January 7, 2015. Was originally on a v6 mustang and was told that it was only installed for 4,000-5,000 miles.

Looks good so far however I would highly recommend a dyno tune or a remote tune with data logging.

Thanks hammer, I hope it helps a bit. Most of the remaining parts won't be purchased until tax time but I have a little bit of spending money to shop around with once I inspect the kit that I receive to make sure that it is all okay and no physical issues. Don't want to buy all these parts if it's not the way it was described. I'm 99% sure it will be but you never know better to be safe than sorry

FI is sweet! Are there any plans for the suspension/chassis/rear end?

found it on corral classifieds for sale at 900 ended up getting all in the description above for 750 after talking to the guy on the phone. No plans currently for any supporting mods, I do have a heavier clutch that I installed when mine went out. I had put a stage 2 excedy in thinking that I probably would go FI. I would like to upgrade the rear suspension eventually and FLSFCs are in the near future for this car especially since it is a convertible. I plan on making it a garage queen/weekend warrior and street driving only so I hadn't really looked at the rear end in terms of 31 spline or anything like that, I do have 3.73s though.

On another note, if anybody knows someone that needs a diablo predator and currently has a SCT let me know. Would rather have the X3 instead of the X4 since I've heard of a few data logging issues. The tuner I'm going to only does SCT so the predator has to go.

Alright all, i received the Head Unit, intercooler, bov, and inlet tube. From what you can see, is there anything else I'll need to finish the build? I'm super excited to get this thing on!

Not sure if you're missing anything else, but is that AEM 320 fuel pump a direct replacement? Or is some modification needed that you know of?

I think 99-04 stangs have different timing covers but I can't be for sure. If you don't get a more confident answer, post in 99-04 forum to see if someone with more knowledge can help you. OR call procharger. They should be able to help you out for sure.
