I purposefully voted for someone else because of this.
And that's fine. I don't posts these to get votes for myself, and according to the rules you do NOT do things to specifically get votes for yourself, here, PMs, facebook, other forums, etc.
The fact that you voted because of this thread means that this thread did it's job, which caused extra voting. Mission accomplished.
I tend to vote based on favorite car myself.
I'm probably the resident "ROTM Thread Whore" and I know that, but I have fun with ROTM, whether I'm in it or not (yes, I promote it when I'm not in it). Either by bumping the thread itself, making a link in my sig, throwing "ninja-links" (by the way, I think those are funny, and other people chuckle from those), or by doing what I did here, which is (what I was hoping was funny) "ninja thread" (search Cheetos and bewbz) . I figure by now, anyone who has over 8,000 posts (not you slonison, the other guy) would know my "funny links" usually end up somewhere close to a ROTM thread, but... a newbie that has less than the usual gazillion votes wouldn't know that they are about to be introduced to our monthly friendly competition. I purposely have not used a "technically, searchable title" (for example, "what exhaust/tire/lowering springs...." or "which heads") for my "ninja threads" so that way i'm not messing up someone trying to use the search function.
If me doing my ROTM promotion really does cause strife, I can quit, but so far, (and i have talked with atleast one mod on this), I havn't broken any rules since none of my crap has been any self promotion.
by the way slonison, that avatar pic looks EXACTLY like a guy i'm friends with at work. It's scary, I wish i could screen shot on my home computer a picture of him, but I'm too computer stupid.
