Harvey raises valid points. On all counts.
Most, will criticize and ridicule *him* rather than what he asserted in his commentary.
Imagine a thief that breaks into your home. In your living room he digs a hole and plants a tree. There it stands. Bold. Asserting by it's very presence. You arrive at home and find the thief sitting on the couch admiring the tree.
You proceed to insult, ridicule, and bad mouth the thief. You tell him he is ugly, that his mother dresses him funny, and most importantly, that " his voice sounds like a pissed off duck that's smoked for 50 years trying to kickstart a motorcycle built by napoleon".
You stand, to the side proud of your accomplishment. You have thoroughly ridiculed the thief.
What you have failed to realize is that all the while that you were insulting and ridiculing the thief, the tree continued to stand. Untouched. Strong.
That is what happens when we ridicule the person, and allow the persons claims, arguments, and assertions to remain standing.
Everything thing Harvey said, at least on this forum, continues to stand. untouched.
Now, the question then comes: Who will attempt to take an ax to the tree?
( By reasoned argument, NOT by further ridicule)
