and you may not even be looking at the right one. r/seattle is pretty tame. r/seattlewa is where i'm talking about and it's a complete clusterfuck. It's just 100 times more hilarious because the tagline is "where community comes first" lmao

It will never be properly non-stick like teflon. You have to cook with fat.

I would just continue to cook bacon and stuff in it and use a flat blade metal spatula to drag the extra shit across to level off the seasoning it builds.

I also will scrub mine with dawn every now and then, which doesn't hurt a damn thing. The new little skillet is currently soaking in oven cleaner with lye trying to get the old seasoning off and it's not working like I expected. It's really, really robust. It worked great on the outside of the pan and around the edges but on the inside business of it, its power level is over 9000.

Tonight, I'm gonna scrub it pretty hard and do 3 rounds in the oven to build up a seasoning of shortening and we will be off to the races.

It's possible you are cooking with the skillet too hot.

Well, Im unemployed. For fun today, I gave the Challenger hell and climbed it hard to to FL400. The flight timer is on the right of the screen showing 11 minutes, and the altitude tape on the left shows FL400. Thats getting it done with a load of people in the back.

Anything I cook in a cast iron, I am making crispy so if it sticks, it's not ready to turn yet.

Replaced the ball joints on the Fox. They were beyond borked. I go to drive it today, and now the steering takes way too much effort and doesn't like to return to center.

Did you buy rock auto shitty Chinese ball joints?

I made that mistake once, had to do ball joints like 4k miles later after they sagged so much my 7.3 U joints were eating them lol.
