Called it. They want me back as a tech. So be it. Days is numbered here. They wanted a guy that will pal around. "and communicate better"
You guys seen the text I received earlier. How do you communicate with that? That's a 13yo smart ass comment if you ask me.
Keep in mind they moved me here because the last guy got into it with somebody. It was a different manager but still. It will be nice to have my text response laid out. "I'm sorry that is not my responsibility any more. Please call (insert phone number here)"
Went to a dealership downtown today. That was an experience. Lots of higher end stuff. Tons of Arab dudes roaming the lots just taking pictures on the cars.
I had forgotten how much I hate dealerships and salesmen. All the high pressure bullshit, the phony "oh I'm on your side, but I have to go see if the manager will approve this...", "we know the market, this is the cheapest one in the country, we won't budge..." and the unrelenting line of fake flattery, and trying to weasel their way into acting like they know you.
"I could tell from the minute you walked in here you're a really intelligent guy. You know your stuff. I could never pull one over on you. What you do for your work is just so important to this country..."
"You can stop it with the flattery." (He doesn't.)
If I wanted to be fed a line of bullshit I'd wait on the other end of the drain tell shttnstrns to slip off his flip flops and put his toes to work.
Tons of curb rash on the one wheel, skirts and lip were clearly repainted at one point and peeling in spots, rear tires were 13 years old, headlight date codes didn't match, front tire had a horrible split in them so bad it wasn't road worthy, and all the monitors were ready...except for the catalyst and oxygen sensor ones. Not suspicious at all.
And the place had the heat turned way up. Kept playing the game of making you sit there and sweat it out.
I would have been happy to have had old Gil at that point.
