Is that an Instagram picture, or did they catch a bum sleeping in one of the display trailers at the RV lot again? I can't tell.

For the price of some of those Airstream trailers you could get a pretty damn nice diesel pusher RV, or even some built on a class 6-8 chassis.

This is the teardrop I wanted to get before my wife decided she wanted an indoor sitting space. It's expensive but the craftsmanship is fucking top notch and I would not worry about anything going wrong with it for a long time. I'm fully expecting the trailer we're getting to have a few issues our first time out. Luckily the dealership is pretty nearby and they seem to be good people.

Airstreams are so over priced and so fucking heavy. You can get a nice ass fiberglass 5th wheel with a fucking office in it for as much as a small airstream.

They weigh the same too.
Most new Airstreams are self sustaining though, and can live off the grid for extended periods with no hookups.

Started breaking down the transmission today. The servos were about 1/4 filled with silver sludge. I have a feeling this ought to be interesting once we get into the case.

Also ought to be interesting replacing seals. The rebuild kit doesn't have anything labeled or numbered. Just here's a giant bag of loose gaskets and seals. Have fun guessing the right one. At least the clutches and steels I can discern easy enough.

i got some car work done today too. '65 coupe is coming along nicely. i'm so close to having this thing 100% that i'd bet the title of the car that i could literally wake up one morning at 7am, finish everything left, drive it 6 hours to panama city and win a show in it before the sun went down

just kidding, shit is surely going to break unexpectedly. gonzo curse and whatnot

plus when i installed the new solenoid on it today it helped me to finally diagnose and fix my fastback electrical problems. had the solenoid wired wrong. compared it to the factory wiring on 4 other stock 289s and a 5.0. now i know more about solenoid wiring than anybody on the planet and could install and wire one with my eyes closed

also, i knew the '65 fastback wasn't numbers matching, but i don't know wtf kind of engine it has. i know it's a 289, but a few parts are in totally different configurations than the other '65s. wondering if the engine came out of a truck or something or if it's a later model 289 or what. really curious now

Plus the only way to win car shows is to be 67 years old with a 2007 Mustang V6 in yellow with every piece of trim possible chromed, 20 inch hideous chrome wheels, and maybe some whatever-is-above-autozone-in-the-aftermarket-parts-shop-list flamejob.

For car shows there's only two generations of Mustang that exist: 65-69, and 15+. Both of which require copious amounts of chrome. No performance mods though, just chrome knick-knacks put on everywhere.

And of course if any completely stock C7 Corvettes show up, they win. Every category, even classics.

How to win a car show:
1.) Go to Chevy dealership
2.) Buy Corvette
3.) Drive to car show
4.) Hell, leave the factory seat covers, floor mats, and window stickers on it
5.) Clean up at awards

Oh shit, have you even thought about how many wins a stock base model C8 Corvette is going to get when they start showing up?

Or will old boomers turn on them because they think mid-engine cars are for pussy socialist europeans?

I expect a lot of old guys standing around, polishing their C7s going "Yeah, I got one of the last real Corvette's, before they turned them into some kind of Eye-talian super car ya got to drop the engine to change the spark plugs on."

I'm just sitting over here disappointed there's not a C8 with the Blackwing engine in it yet.

Now I'm just going to need to wait a few years to find a wrecked CT6-V Blackwing and a C8 with a blown engine, and we can have an all new kind of dumpsterfire.

Also Cadillac's naming convention is fucking dumb. There, I said it.

Sounds like the S197 people when the S550 came out.

I wouldn’t be surprised if the z06 or zr1 got the blackwing engine.

Wow that's dumb.

I mean if you're going to blow it up, you should at least do it with some nitrous so you get some fun out of it.

That's what I expected, but in an interview a few weeks back the president of Cadillac said that the Blackwing engine is going to be in the CT6-V Blackwing only. Not even the smaller CT, nor will other GM divisions get it.

I can kind of see it from a packaging standpoint on the C8, but that sucks to have such a halo engine and only use it for one car.

Meanwhile there's people sitting in a FCA boardroom going "what else can we stuff a Hellcat engine into today? How long until we can fit it in a 500?"

Got the trashmission torn down. Nothing screaming "this is the problem" but I imagine the whole thing being filled with silver goop and the clutch pack clearance in excess of 0.070" when then spec is 0.025-0.050" would be bad.
