My car is cursed

After breaking another windshield today on my Dart, I'm getting ready to file my fourth insurance claim on a 2 year old car. I just can't catch a break with this car, here is a list of everything that has happened to me in the past 2 years.

1 Blowout and damaged front bumper (Hit a short piece of an I beam on the interstate at 70mph)
1 Bent wheel (pothole was about 6" deep, I was running 75mph)
1 Front end collision
2 Broken windshields (rocks)
Victim of a hit and run that damaged front bumper
Hit 3 retreads (1 destroyed front bumper)

Of all that has happened to this car, only one incident was partially my fault. Either this thing is cursed, or I just have really bad luck. I really don't know what to do, it just seems like no matter what I do to prevent this from happening, it finds a way. I've even changed the way I drive by slowing down and leaving more space between cars, I also always park away from other cars. It's like I just can't have anything nice.

Has anybody else ever had a string of bad luck like this?

My 2015 SHO, got messed up on some black ice, when I got it back, the shop did a crap job and refused to own up. Had to go through hell to get it fixed again. Day after I get it back, bumper brackets break, so it looks weird AF, and a truck with no mud flaps cut me off so I got like 7 big ass rock chips on my freshly painted bumper.

Not as bad as your luck, but it happens. Sorry to hear it

Yup, my wife's 2008 escape limited was like that.

-hit and run in stop and go traffic on 295 outside Baltimore. Scraped the paint off the center of back bumper

-rear-ended at stop light to the same back bumper. (Luckily hadn't gotten it fixed yet)

- someone vandalized it in our parking lot of our townhouse complex where we were living and threw a rock at the door.

-when we bought it, the tpms light came on the dash on the way home from buying it

-Ran over a bolt (yes an actual bolt and it punctured the tire.)

That's all I can think of. The car was fine reliability wise. It just had so many stupid things happen all in the first year we had it that we ended up trading it in.

I definitely feel your pain...

My autocorrect actually changed it to 3 retards, before I posted.

I live out in the sticks, but I work in downtown Atlanta so my car is exposed to alot more hazards than most.

I guess what really frustrates me is like when I hit the I-beam, it sat on the interstate while I changed the tire and nobody else got a flat from it. It's just like if something bad is going to happen, it's going to happen to me.

On the bright side, my deductible is $0 for the windshield, and I'm glad it didn't happen to the Mustang because I almost drove it today, but I didn't feel like uncovering it this morning.

1st problem, you live in "The Jungle"

Also, my mustang is for sure cursed. Within 2 months of owning it, someone pulled out way too close to me, and caused my front end to get destroyed. within a month of it being fixed, my ex backed into the driver side rear, and screwed it up. Got it back from the shop, and got hit and ran ripping off my right mirror. Got rims for it, and immediately got a flat, and then another the next day. Drove it for the first time in about 6 months (had been away from home), and my friends dad backed into the front driver side corner. Got it fixed and then got cut off while accelerating, and ended up hitting the same spot again.

You know...a friend of mine has had nothing but bad luck and breaks with his Dart as well. He's been contemplating taking a big loss just to get out of the headache.

My only complaint is that the dash has a little rattle over bumps. I've put 49,000 miles on it so far without any mechanical problems. It would be about a $6000 loss if I decided to get rid of it now, so I'm stuck with it. I just want to get about 200,000 miles out of it and I'll be happy.

If gas was at $2 when I bought this car in 2014, I would've gotten a Jeep or Truck instead. That's just my luck though, I buy a car to save money on gas and then gas prices drop by about 40%.

It's not where I live it's where I work, Atlanta. It's like a warzone, I can't tell you how many times I've pulled my gun out and placed it on my lap while sitting at a stop light because I'm afraid of getting robbed or carjacked. There's always homeless people begging for money or a bunch of thugs up to no good at 5am. I've actually had bums tap on my window because I won't look over when they start asking for money.

Where I live is completely different, there's virtually no crime. It's the kind of place where the streets are empty every Sunday morning because everyone is in church.

I've actually gotten off the highway and felt like I was being followed to the point that I make unpredictable turns to see if they follow.

I work around the area where I-20 and I-75 intersect.

I've been driving for 36 years and and could write a book on all the shit that has happened to my cars or myself. Count your blessings at all the little shit that happens on the road because it is a lot better than something major happening. The only real crashes that I have been in have been on the track or off road.

Bought my wife a nice 2013 Altima SL 3.5 - fully loaded. Got hit multiple times in front of our apartment, someone side swiped the front bumper and put a dent in the fender. Was backed into multiple times up front.

We finally closed on our house - we were all moved, she was back at the apartment cleaning and someone slammed into the rear bumper and put two holes in it from their license plate bracket - and of course drove off.

Ended up putting in two claims to fix it up enough - decided to trade it in before anything else happened to it lol
