Would probably just divide the group even further and reduce membership on both ends.
Exactly. I have said it before, Forums are a 80's kids thing. Obviously there are people from other generations, but the main meat of MM through its glory years where driven by the generation born in the 80's through very early 90's. This generation has since grown up, gotten married, had kids; and no longer devotes time to posting on a forum. During the glory days most of us were single with maybe a girl friend or something, but that was it. We all played COD4 all night on Xbox live together and devoted a ton of time to bull shitting on here. Which was done when the majority of us through the mid-late 2000's were in college or the Military. We all got out of college or the Military, got jobs, had families, and move on from bull shitting with our buddies online.

I used to spend hours a day on here sometimes making hundreds of posts a day when it was really busy. Now I jump on here when I am slow at work to post some BS in the politics section. I very very rarely ever log on outside of that. I can't even remember the last time I logged in at home.

Now that generation who is currently in college or the military, just out of highschool, uses other forms of communication to BS with friends. I don't need to list all of the social media platforms because its quite obvious. And all are easily used right on that mini computer/phone you have right in your pocket. During the mid 2000's we had the Motorola rzr as the most bad ass phone on the planet and even the brand new for 2007 iphone was slow as fuck because there was not even 3g internet on them. So we had no other choice than to jump on our PC's, and that was the norm. But after we grew up and moved on, there was a new form of BSing with buddies that cropped up. And aside from using laptops for homework, not many people use a laptop all the time in that age range anymore.

And you'll never be able to get our generation, now in our mid to late 20 back to devote a ton of time to a forum again. For a lack of better terms, we have better things to do with our lives now than to spend hours a day on a forum. And the kids who are now at that point in their lives with all the time in the world to bull shit, don't use forums to do their bull shitting. So that's where we stand.
Damn man, you almost described me to a T. Well said

I'm not going to lie, I joined Facebook to join see what these groups were all about. I got accepted to New Edge nation and a few local groups...

I then deleted my Facebook and came back here. The posts on there were rough. I don't see how groups took over forums.

You want to get nostalgic, I'd bet there isn't anyone left here that even remembers the car I had when I joined.

Or the most recent,

In all reality I don't think HMUSN was inherently a terrible person. I believe he got caught up in how easy it is to become whatever you want online since no one knows the real you. I actually think he is probably a really good guy who lived a somewhat hard life growing up and became what he wanted to be online.

Yeah, hes been gone for years. He left after months of posting rants about how disrespectful the current generation is, and things like that. Zip was awesome in the early days of MM, then turned into having a preachy holier than thou attitude which was annoying. I don't even care about telling it how I saw it anymore, shit got annoying.

Shit, he was even against meeting people outside of the forum. I suppose that's totally his right, but he had like a cult following on here and didn't even want to meet up at car shows to shake a hand. I suppose that's somewhat weird to me because if anyone on here I talk to on a regular basis was in the area and wanted to meet up I would definitely meet at the bar and have a brew or something. But that was his right not to do so.
