making a CARB EO sticker

hey guys im trying to find the legality on creating a CARB EO sticker with the correct CARB # for that product.
I have an 02-04 C&L plenum that is CARB legal and never received a CARB sticker for it. This was years ago noticing that the rear of the plenum has a bunch of stuff stamped on it I figured so was the carb #, well I was wrong and can't pass smog now. California's laws require the CARB # to be affixed to the part or vehicle and getting a sticker from C&L is impossible due to them closing up shop a few years back. If I created a label at staples with the carb number would that be fine. Is there something specific about labels that smog shops look for? I've already contacted american muscle and this is what I was sent, so thinking of printing that onto a label and calling it a day. What do you think?

Unless their website hasnt been messed with then Id say theyre still open or it could be that theyre only online. Besides I just bought their plenum a few months back.

Pretty sure they were bought by '5 Turn / American Muscle' a couple years ago. I've heard their quality has really gone down hill, etc.

I would probably do what you said and print what they sent you and call it a day. The CARB # will show correctly and I'm pretty sure that's all that matters. If it's a problem / missing something just tell them you contacted them and that's what you got.

That would explain why they named american muscle as their sole distributor on their website. I dont live in cali or even in an emissions state for that matter, my whole hangup is the legality of printing out something like that. I mean as long as it has their carb number on their then it shouldnt matter but like I said I dont have emissions so I dont know.

that is my concern and i contacted American Muscle and they said C&L is no longer in business. Now just need to find somewhere that won't charge me an arm and a leg to print it on a sticker. Everyone wants minimum orders of like 100

If need be Ill throw mine in an envelope and send it to you. I dont need it. Otherwise staples prints labels or you can buy label paper and print 1 yourself and put some superglue on the back to hold it in place.

I would gladly send you some money for that label if its the correct one!
I thought about staples but the label paper they have does not look like it would hold up in an engine bay

Does it have to hold up longer than the time it takes to get the car emissions tested?

Technically yes, if you were to get pulled over or inspected and it's not their. Your plates and registration can be ceased and your car towed. Then you will be flagged and have to see a referee. Constant offenders can have their car crushed. undoubtedly need it every two years for smog. My thing is if my parts legal why even risk it, gotta get that sticker.

It's not the cars that are the problem. It's the amount of bureaucratic bullshit you guys have to deal with for EVERYTHING that would drive me insane.

They can type the CARB number into the website and see that it says that part is good to go. Lazy techs these days. Maybe if you just give them the CARB EO number 640-1 they can see this info and see the part number on your plenum. Seems like that'd be too easy tho

You would think right?
Nope they say it has to be affixed to the car or part by either a sticker/plaque or stamped engraved on. Ridiculous I just need to find someone with sticker or label printing capabilities.

A small name plate / plaque might be a better idea as you'll be able to adhere it better probably. What's the intake made out of?

I'll stay in NH, straight fuel pouring out the tailpipes and enough trees to keep the air crisp and clean.

As far as the sticker I have one from my PRO M MAF. You can have it. How close do they inspect these things?

Each CARB "approved" part has a unique number that goes along with it and is on the decal / plaque.
