For me it's all the out of state people going up to the lakes. This morning when I was going to work I'm crusing 70 over taking people on the left on a 3 lane highway then getting back over into the middle lane like a normal person. Then this person with MA plate ahead of me by a good 2 miles goes into the fast lane and doesn't pass the car infront of them they weren't even close to them. So I continue in my middle lane driving 70 like the person infront of me passing the slow person in the left lane. Then someone who's going 80 in the left lane with NJ plates comes up to said slow person I'm passing in the middle lane. Meanwhile the tail end of my car is almost with the slow persons nose. They get over into the right lane and pass me when they could have just waited 3 seconds and had enough room to get back into the left lane. I kid you not less than a mile later they cross all 3 lanes to take an exit. Or like last night I'm going 70 coming up to a car I've been gaining on for the past couple of exits. I go to pass him and he matches my speed. I increase my speed to pass so does he. So now we're doing 75 and still matching and my exits coming up so I drop a gear go 85 and pass him get infront of him and slam on the brakes so I don't hit the person infront of me. They finally got the hint after that.
I think the stupidest thing I have ever witnessed was when me and my dad were at a gas station and this place is busy well the pumps go in a way that they go pararrel with the store and there's no spots or space to park infront of the store because the gas pumps are there. So this woman is parked there not getting gas. After waiting a couple of mins my dad gets out and asks her to move up so he can get gas, and she says "no". My dad says "excuse me your blocking all these people from getting gas no one can get around you". Then her husband comes out of the store with a coffee with his tough voice on "is there a problem here?" My dad tells him what's going on and my this guy tells my dad he can wait". My dad proceeds to lay into the guy telling him that "this spot isn't for your convenience it's for getting gas". Finally the guy looks at my dads hat that says SIG Arms on it and leaves. I've never seen my dad so pissed off in his life.
I honestly think it's a combination of being oblivious to their surroundings and being self centered. I can't tell you how many times in one stretch of road I've been almost lane changed into because someone didn't take the time to do a shoulder check to see their blind spot.
On Wednesday I had to drive into Minneapolis to pick up my wife from the airport. Now I like driving in Minneapolis because people actually KNOW how to drive there. They move, and you can pass, etc. No big deal. But, my wife landed at 4:30 PM, we got out of the airport at 5, and I knew we'd hit bumper to bumper traffic on the way out for a little bit because of construction near the airport, so on my way to the airport, I stopped for gas because I'm down to 1/4 tank.
Pull into gas station, most pumps are full, but I see one on the other side so I circle around and back into it. I start pumping, and I'm almost done when the lady in the car behind me starts bitching at me through her window. I turn around to see that she's not at the middle pump like I thought, but between both of them. So angry lady (who is still bitching through her window) gets out and starts yelling at me, "I wouldn't have pulled up to the pump if I wasn't going to pump gas!"
"Lady, I didn't know you were waiting, you were just sitting there, I thought you were done."
"I haven't even started! Punk ass taking my turn."
"Well I'm sorry Ma'am, I'll be done in a minute."
So she keeps yelling at me, my pump finishes, I put it away, get my reciept, and drive away, with her STILL standing there yelling as ANOTHER car pulls up and starts trying to get gas.
I feel REALLY sorry for that guy.
