New vehicle

Trade the GT500 in last week. Time has come for a better daily driver diving six hours one way to work.

2016 F150 XLT 5.0 sport. Nav, dual sunroof, heated seats.
It's a lot better as a DD plus I needed something to haul the GT around now that the local track has closed.

As soon as I left the dealer I went straight to a shop and had LED headlights and fog lights installed. Light output is 100% better than the stock lights were.

Purchased Roush cat back before I even took delivery of the truck. Also got cree LED reverse lights and third brake lights/bed lights. Bed lights now match the bed light leds. Got husky floor liners too. That's about all I have planned for the truck.

If you don't mind me asking why did you trade the Gt500 for the f150 and not the 5.0 for the truck instead?

MBRP exhaust sounds nice on it.

Plus now you can throw a TVS on it easily if you want.

I've got both the 5.0L and the 3.5L Ecoboost in my driveway and I can say I don't regret the 5.0L one bit.

Well when I asked it wasn't lol.

What I think T.Lee was asking (and what I would have wanted to know) is why you decided to trade in the Gt500 as opposed to the GT, but if the GT is twin turbo then that answers that question.

The GT is down while I put the twins on. I don't want to drive it 6 hours each way in case anything should happen. Plus I needed a truck to haul the GT an hour or so to the drag strip. I usually drive it there and back but the local track just shut down.

Question wasn't "why not drive the GT on your 6 hour commute", it was "why not trade the GT in for the truck instead of trading in the GT500?". But again, if you're in the middle of a twin turbo build, it makes sense.

Nice ride! But 6 hours one way to work? soooo 12 hours a day driving? then 8 hours of work I'm assuming? Math doesn't add up.

Unless my job was paying wear and tear and gas, I'd be rocking a Ford Fiesta as a DD

I do not make the drive everyday. We used to have a take home company truck. That came to an end a few months ago.

Now I drive to work, and jump in the company truck while I'm at work. I am at work 1-3 months at a time. So the 'commute' isn't 12 hours per day.

That makes way more sense.

My apologies for not thinking outside of the box and thinking everyone has an 8 to 5 lol

Man, that took a long time to get clarification. I was reading this thread and was wondering when the question was going to be answered.
