So were the trucks that were insured and registered and licensed, then stolen to do their bidding.

Media said there was a bunch of tannerite in his car too, guy meant business. Even had a back up plan it appears.

I've been telling my wife this for years. She is a little younger than me (12 yrs) and she has friends that still like to go out and do things like new years on the strip and stuff. And like I said before it was just a matter of time before someone targeted Las Vegas. Too easy to inflict mayhem and maximum carnage at the type of events we have here almost daily.

So I think it's more of a coincidence. I'm sure that I'm not the only one that figured out it would happen here eventually. I've been warning people about it for a while now.

Any place with a large gathering of people is susceptible. Music festivals, schools, movie theaters, theme parks, downtowns, plazas, malls, sports events etc. What are you supposed to do? Stop living your life and stop enjoying things? (general "you" being used here) No point in existing then. Sure, be vigilant and aware of your surroundings and keep an eye out for an exit plan - but if people give up doing things they enjoy based on the .0000001% you get killed by a terrorist/mass-murdering asshole, we might as well set aside everything we're supposed to represent in the good ol' USA: giving a big middle finger to assholes trying to keep us down/scared.

A young man was following Him, wearing nothing but a linen sheet over his naked body; and they seized him. But he pulled free of the linen sheet and escaped naked. (Mark 14:51-52)

There is a word for this, some phobia but I can't remember what it's called. It's when you are scared of things happening that statistically aren't going to happen.

No, It shouldn't make or break your decision to enjoy life, I used to point it out to her along with a plethora of other reasons why it's stupid to go to some of the events she does. More for why I don't want to go. I've just learned that too many people in one spot with too much alcohol is always going to have some incidents. I still go to shows and sporting events but I hate the hassle more than anything. Statistically having a shooting is next to zero but something always happens and in a big crowded mess you have less control over the situation. Like driving down the freeway in a big crowded pack of cars. Something happens and your options are limited. Stay in an open pack with outs and if somebody screws up you have escape routes.

It's amazing as we go around here, how many people were there. The girl at Go Rentals that gave us our car said her friend on her right got shot 3 times and is recovering, and the friend on her left got hit and died. She said the group she was with started running towards the strip, and she ran to the airport. Her statement was "we lost all those people." We were talking to some guys today, while playing some disc golf, who said they were stepping over dead bodies getting out. This is the most subdued I've seen vegas.

Our pizza guy the other night told us his brother died in the shooting. And that was after we tipped him so we don't think he was making things up.

I haven't heard much about the 13 on his neck in the picture that has floated around all of news stations. Ive read a bunch of the conspiracies threads on the Internet, but never saw anything from any "news" organizations talking about it.

That's definitely true.

Been to two 3 memorial services this week. Two for families that my wife is friends with and the off duty Metro officer. It has been a sad week for the entire city.
