I want to say it's more like the Elder Scrolls where each individual one expands the lore of the previous titles so you can play one without playing any of the others and still understand it just fine.

Three is a good start and is FPS. One and two were more like old school Command and Conquer.

Also it looks like 4 could be a starting point as well. According to Bethesda you start out minutes before the Chinese bombing, live in Vault 111, and become the only survivor, then go from there.

If you feel like reading Nukapedia has some good articles:

I appreciate the input. I'll end up picking up fallout 3 and go from there.

Edit:
I don't have a Xbox one or ps4 yet and PC is out of the question right now. So it it's between ps3 and Xbox 360...is one going to be or play better than the other?

I have heard that it played better on Xbox. Not sure of the truth of that or not because I never played it on PS3. I know I saved religiously to keep the game from screwing me out of hours of game play and because I make bad decisions. Lol

I doubt there will be much difference either way.

They're both garbage platforms IMO. That being said, you'd be fine on either one of them.

I would love to get back into PC gaming, but my desktop is from '06/'07. I stopped playing a little after CS: Source came out. I just need to figure out what parts are worth it to buy to build my own

If you want to build one and have a budget, I'd be more than happy to help you pick out parts.

Me and Rhythm Stick were talking about this earlier. About midway down the page here: https://www.moddedmustangs.com/forums...rything-2.html

I might spring for a few different things myself but I was hoping to get a 2 year old machine from a friend so I wouldn't have to sink a lot of money into it.

Heard that fallout 4 for Xbox one will support pc mods as well.

Not sure if it's true, but if it is that would be awesome.
Regardless I'm getting it when it releases.

November 10th, 2015??? I believe I read.

I suspect it will be just weapons, armor, and stuff like that.

I would find it very surprising if MS allowed mods that needed something like SKSE.

I mean, some of these Skyrim mods will really start to eat into RAM, don't know how the console could adjust/handle that.

Yeah, very good point. The only way I can see them allowing it is if.
1. You pay for it, meaning they make profit off of it.
2. It's released as additional content.

But I'm just repeating what I heard from a friend. Not sure who his source is.

They said whatever mods are available for pc will be available for console. Your game will save a safe "clean" copy then apply the mods.

You're not going to be able to run all the mods available for PC. The console's hardware won't be able to handle it.

Todd said it would be able to run any mods that were uploaded to their site which means they will have to be approved. No its not going to run all the crazy mods that people come up with on PCs but it will run every mod that gets approved on their site.

I am excited either way and doubt I will really touch mods on a game like this because I like to play the game the way its supposed to be played but if they give me the option to spawn enemies or friendly into the game then I might play with things like that.
