Replace an aftermarket radio with another?

Hey guys,

I know almost nothing about all the wiring that goes on for aftermarket radios. I had one installed on my 03 GT and the guy had to splice some wires and install pioneer speakers since the mach systems wasn't working with the aftermarket radio I bought.

So now I'm looking at buying a Mach 1 that had a JVC radio put in it. I think it looks insanely ugly. Would I be able to buy a new radio like the one I have now, take it to a shop, and just plug and play it? If it was spliced once, can it be spliced again?
