Which factory stereo system do I have?

I have a 2003 GT and I am wanting to upgrade the head unit, but I am not sure if the stereo is the Mach 460 or the non Mach system. It currently has an aftermarket HU that was in the car when I bought it. Is there an easy way to determine which stereo I have? I know it's not the Mach 1000 because it doesn't have the subs or amp rack in the trunk.

Hopefully this helps. It's from Crutchfield at 2001-2004 Ford Mustang Car Audio Profile. It sounds like if you have the two amps in the back, then you have the mach 460.

The Mustang's standard stereo was an 80-watt, 4-speaker system featuring an AM/FM/CD player that gained the ability to play MP3 files in 2002. The next step up was the Mach 460 system, which offered a 6-disc AM/FM/CD receiver with, coincidentally enough, 460 watts of stereo output pumping through a total of eight speakers. Mind you, that's the peak power rating, not the more meaningful RMS rating, but that's still a ton of power for a "factory" system. The Mach 460's added power came from a pair of amps mounted between the rear seats and the trunk. The amps took care of the lower door speakers and rear deck speakers, while the front and rear tweeters ran off the stock receiver."

Just came across this thread but I hope i help someone out who's looking for the same info. I found an OEM Ford parts listing page showing radio options based on the vehicle info. It shows Mach 1000,Mach 460, and 1 non Mach system as options. You can enter your VIN on the page to filter the results. You can also see that both options are coming back as discontinued and no longer available per Ford. Follow the link to view the listing page https://www.fordpartsprime.com/parts...nd_system.html
