    OHC, I read a few of your comments in a thread about using a Nissan distributor to work with a dual plug head on a 2.3. Do you have any pics of info on this?

    Eric, please send me a PM and let me know what you would like to do. Every time I set out to finish the head porting guide, something in my life pop's up and keeps me from moving forward with it.

    ive read just about every thread and post you have started on mm. and im very interested in the supercharging of the 2.3 engine! ive got a little bit of fabrication experience as a welder and a good creative mind to boot.

    ive got a few 2.3 motors a 90 4 plug and a 92 8 plug and possibly a 2.3t motor out of an xr4ti that i might be able to get my hands on in the next few weeks (a full turbo set up minus brain, wiring, and vane meter).

    ive really wanted to get alot more hp out of the 2.3 and they are a relatively simple engine and all.

    so what it boils down to is that i know you are a very busy man, but i was wondering if you would mind sharing some of that wealth of knowledge of how to correctly and efficiently supercharging a 2.3 the right way.

    if you want to share some of that knowledge u can message me on mm or email me at [email protected]. either will work for me. thanks in advance for any guidance and help. its much appreciated.

    continued...Most of the parts required to install a roots type supercharger, such as Eaton’s M-62/M-90, can be made from flat sheet stock aluminum or steel and some tubing. Fabricating these parts can be accomplished by the average person, using a variety of inexpensive, commercially available tools, you don’t need a full machine shop necessarily.The one exception is the discharge end of the supercharger, which is critical and would require either a ton of hand work or a milling machine.

    continued from below...Centrifugal superchargers have a high purchase price, some require oil supply and drain lines and they require regular periodic maintenance. On the up side, they are fairly easy to fit to a small engine and perform fairly well.

    Roots and screw drive superchargers on the other hand, can commonly be found in wrecking yards at wrecking yard prices.

    I prefer the roots type superchargers over the other choices due to their broad volume delivery through all RPM ranges, but the down side is that they require mounting brackets and inlet/discharge pieces that are not commonly available off the shelf.

    This has always been a hot topic on 4 cylinder Mustang forums, one which seems to bring out the worst in some when it is mentioned. The comments I hear from many are; it won't work at all, you might gain 40 HP and so on and so on. The negative comments about supercharging a 4 cylinder engine, probably come from others attempts to build a system based on trial and error or faulty logic.

    My perspective on supercharging is slightly different. Incredible power levels are possible with a 4 cylinder engine, but the application of certain parts and processes needs to be applied.

    Well, there is no short answer for this question, since there are quite a few variables in terms of what model and type of supercharger you apply to your car...

    Hey i was checking out your profile and i was just wondering how you supercharge a 4 cyl. I have visited a few forums and all i have seen was turbocharged a 4 cyl. So can you please enlightened me in this subjected.Oh and to let you know i own a 88 5-speed coupe.

    hey man. I saw you posted about a 91 mustang lx being the perfect start to a turbo engine and that all you need is forged pistons and the turbo. It just so happens that this is the exact thing that i have in mind for my daily driver and I was wondering if you might be able to send me some more info on the topic...     Can you help w/ my knock gauge. Can't seem to find the knock sensor so how would it my knock gauge?
