Hey guys, I am going to pop for a new d.s and was wondering what everyone thinks is the best to go with and who should I buy it from.

They're all pretty good. I'd look at shaftmasters or spydershaft. Is your car lowered any?

Then you won't have a problem with any of them. Severely lowered cars run into clearance issues due to the shafts larger diameter (I left that one wide open for you zip ). Make sure you pick up a safety loop while you're at it.

Shaftmasters direct fit here. Couldn't be happier.

I should get a loop myself one of these days!

I've heard a lighter driveshaft can lower your ET by a few tenths. Was thinkin bout pickin one up soon.

How tough is the install on these btw?? I do the vast majority of my mods myself unless its really technical or don't have the necessary equipment.

Yup, most guys pick up 2-3 tenths, which is about the equivalent of adding 20-30hp.

Pretty simple actually. Last couple I installed took about an hour. Most of that time was spend trying to get the car off the ground, lol.

I put my d/s in the same time as my 3:73 gears, so I wasnt able to tell the differance for the d/s alone, but you can see an increase in acceleration.

3:73 gears, Steed tri-ax, Mac o/r pro chamber mid pipe, w/ 2 chamber 2.5Ē Flowmasters,C&L upper plenum,
Livernois PI intake swap kit, Steeda timing adjuster 16', FR 70mm throttle body, FR aluminum driveshaft, Lowering springs, BBK CAI

I as well. I try and get over there to the track a few times a year. It's always nice running into other guys from the forums.

Everything I have read (recently) says Axle Exchange is the sheezy.

Steeda's shaft is also supposedly and axle exchange unit.

Beware of some of the older Spydershafts which were not balanced correctly. You can run them if found, but they need to be checked for balance.

I don;t have one yet...but I will go AE when it is time.

I am waiting because I think I want a GT500 tranny along with the associated axle and shifter upgrade (MGW)
