Does not matter if you are going to go FI you still need to build the best short block you can. The better the base the more you will get with the blower. There is a book out by Richard Holdener “Building 4.6/5.4L Ford Horsepower on the Dyno. Buy the book it will answer all your questions with facts backed up with unbiased engine Dyno charts. It gives charts with different cams, as well as different centerlines, what higher compression ratios do and a bunch more stuff. He did 2v, 3v & 4v motors. In short lower compression for a roots type blower and a bit higher for the centrifugal type. Another book “how to build Max-Performance 4.6-liter by Sean Hyland explains the different heads and why one is better than the other, it also give a very nice write up on how to degree the 4V. Both books refer to John Mihovetz. The book by Richard had John setting up the cams.
