Good luck, if you keep it, it lost it's value....fixed and worth what again?

Pray it is totaled get a new 5.0 and never...I repeat...never ever let this happen again.

15 years with progressive, I'm sure they will be good to you. EVERYONE I've ever talked to there has been incredibly helpful, professional and nice, and most of the time easy to reach. They refunded me the tax I paid on my Mazda (about $700) since I had only bought it 3 months previously, and that was after totaling it and they paid off the loan that I was upside down on. Let us know how it turns out, and like previously stated I would push to get the car totaled. You might be able to take it somewhere else to get a higher estimate as well.

So here are the pics.. Adjuster was there this afternoon, waiting to hear back. Driver side frame rail is bent, radiator bent, nothing is touching the motor except hoses. TENNRIDER, no disrespect, but your brother can keep his junkyard parts and shotty labor, ill have a pro do mine. and dont say that shit isn't used, cuz it is. PS, i dont see airbag sensor on that receipt..... Might be worth looking into lol. And its not very "UNDERGROUND" when they charge for taxes lol. Do the Cartels pay taxes now?

*EDIT, the sound induction tube is fine.. thank God!

I feel your pain man. My first car got totaled 3 weeks after buying it. My dad owns a shop and from what he has told me in the past the airbag is usually the deal breaker on recovery. I just hope you have gap insurance because that helps on instances like this. When they totaled mine I only had 1 payment in so it was nice seeing that pay off letter from Ford.

Sorry didn't read the whole thread until now. I'd say with the bent rails and the deployed airbags it's a total. Gap should cover it if you bought it through Ford. Like I said mine did but it wasn't as old as yours when it got hit.

Its also suspicious that there is NOTHING on it about paint work. There should be a couple hundred in paint materials alone.

So what we are saying, stands. His damage was nowhere near what you we talking about on OPs car.

Lets just put it on the table, since you are so sure it can be done, a side bet? How about if the estimate is anywhere within $500 of your number, you leave MM? Put your estimate where your mouth is

Basically, you cant make ANY comparison. Because OP is going to have his car at a legit shop, where if they fuck something up, he has a legal leg to stand on.

How about this.

I have over 20 years in the auto business. I havent worked in a body shop, but I have dealt with enough of them to know a little bit. Most definitely more than you. You are out of your depth here, the only thing you are going to accomplish is making more people have a worse opinion of you. Save face and let it go while you are ahead.
Not only a legal leg, Progressive guarantees the work for life thru this shop.

stri8ed I think you are going to be upgrading to a 5.0 soon haha. Mine comes in in March
I think its gunna take some pressure to get it totaled out. If they dont, ill get the 2010 Saleen front end with the Cirvinis Concept hood. If its totaled, Im lookin at a 2006 Saleen. I see them for about $25,000-$30,000 with 30,000 miles. I have always loved the look of that Saleen.

now that the trolls gone....

i think they should total it mainly because of the frame damage. they are probably going to try NOT to total it though because your upside down and they dont want to pay it all off plus some. it will be cheaper for them if they just fix it. i wouldnt want it after that just for the fact that you will never be able to get rid of it now because no one will give you anything for it. plus it may never drive right again and will probably have tons of front end problems down the road. it really sucks that such a nice car is ruined, however if you do get a new one im sure you will love it. bittersweet, hope it all works out for you.

Insurance doesn't care what i owe. They pay the worth of the vehicle, no more no less. My GAP insurance is thru a different company and they will pay the difference.
