I just put mine in a month ago. It shakes like crazy around 100 mph and faster. The car is lowered, so i'm going to assume its the pinion angle. Parked the car and now waiting on an adjustable uca, hopefully that will fix it up

I got a dss cv joint d/s on the way to replace my shaftmasters d/s. i have vibrations even with the pinion angle set right...there's no concern with pinion angle with the dss cv joint! Cant wait should be delivered next tuesday! The shaftermasters is an ok d/s when you don't modify your suspension set up, therefore i will sell my shaftmasters after i get the dss installed!

my suspension is as much so if not more modified than anyones on here, I have 0 vibrations.

I read thru your post on svt, IMO, it's the whiteline parts.

think it thru logically, you had no vibration with the springs & shaftmasters d/s, you install the whiteline ah, products I guess we will call them (certainly not a fan of theirs) & bam, vibration.

ok, loose their junk upper & replace it with a steeda adj unit (depending in which steeda unit, it may have made it worse) & then set the pinion angle too shallow at -1.

still have vibration & blame the d/s....................?

How much would a shop typically quote to install this piece time wise?

I've looked at it nice write up! I like to do it has anyone ever dynoed one of these to see what the actual gain is. Until I go forged I don't want to add any hp at all. Is it really 14 or is it more like 4 or 5 ?

a shaftmasters unit is a direct swap so I would be in the 1 hour range, price will vary though depending on mechanical labor rates in your location.

as to the dss one, it would be simular.

a driveshaft doesn't add any h/p, it may show a few on the dyno by freeing up some loss in the drivetrain, but thats it.

I'm in! I hate that clunky factory one. So if I'm lowered now with the eaibach pro kit and don't have any vibrations. I should be good to go with this one?

not nessesarily, you most likely will find an adjustable upper control arm will come in handy.

The vibration was always there hidden by the rubber of the oem mount. I upgraded my entire suspension, the vibration that was there was magnified just a little bit. There's a reason why i have 0 vibration during wide open throttle and vibrations during normal driving its because the d/s is at 0 pinion angle where it likes to be. The steeda mount which is a harder bushing then the Whiteline mount magnified the normal driving vibrations even more. It is a pre existing condition magnified by harder parts. It is no secret that these cars suffer from harmonic and balance issues from the factory. Its why the back end of the oem driveshaft has 9lbs of weight on it, its why the oem uca mount and the hydro motor mounts are so soft. ford was more concerned about minimizing noise and vibration then wheel hop and driveline deflection. When ever you change what ford has done with new and different parts it throws the balance and harmonics off. Dss is the only driveshaft company that has engineered into to its product the elimination of these issues. Different parts create different harmonics and in balance and dss is aware of this. There are countless threads of people saying that the shaftmaster shaft is vibration free until they modded their suspension, those guys went to dss and never had an issue afterwards! You have no vibration well you lucked out! Me i have to solve the problem and going from -1 to -2 on the pinion angle wont change it. The fact is there are more threads about shaftmasters vibrating then there are threads about whiteline suspension parts causing vibration. Vibration is caused by rotating moving parts not stationary parts, all my suspension did was magnify what was already there it didn't cause it.

Looks like I'll be buying one with a watts link as well. Car should feel entirely different after this.

Let it be known that I have Strange adjustable shocks/struts, v6 rear springs, GT500 upper strut mounts, GT500 LCAs, Roush UCA and mount...so I clearly have a modified suspension under the car and still no vibrations. I can't change the pinion angle if I wanted to
