what transmission

Well went to the track yesterday and on my 3rd pass power shifted 2nd and the ol stock tranny went BANG !! I think the input snapped !! I know it was going to happen I'm surprised it lasted this long with the power its putting down !!! Soooo I think it's time for an automatic !!! Have any of you guys went from a stick to an auto ? Was wondering what I need and what tranny did you go with ?

IMO unless you only drag race I'd still stay manual and look into a t45 from the45source.com. I know for me at least, and auto would ruin it all for me.

i did the same thing to my gt at the track, i bought a tremec TKO 500, which was a good trans, but didnt like to shift at high rpm, instead of building it i switched to a built c4. I probably would have kept a 5 spd (maybe gone with a 6 spd) if it was staying a street car, but i intended on making it mostly a track car so switched to auto.
