Starting to lose hope.

So recently did some more upgrades to my 06 im at this hump that i cant get over. If i knew the car was running the correct mph i would be fine with running 13s but im trying to get into the 12s. I simply cant get in. The car runs pretty consistently 13.1 to 13.5 depending on my hook. My problem is that it will not exceed 105 to 106 mph. This car should be running 110+mph imo. Well today i had it. Was running 13.3 to [email protected] 106 my 60 foot 1.9. I drove my good friends 99 cobra just lts x pipe catback tune and 430s ran a [email protected] ive had it. What am i doing wrong?

imrc deletes
gt500 tb
127200s
410s
pypes lts
x pipe borla xb
C&l Racer
tune from bbr i use to run a dyno tune from st motorsports. That tune netted me the highest mph.

Take video of your next run inside the car. Before i did i didnt realize i was shifting too early and was coming out of my power band. Make sure youre running the rpms out to 6700 or higher. Heres my video for reference, you can hear the bog in 3rd.

Hmmmmm maybe the tune? Could be super conservative or cam timing retarded.

I don't think so 'cause his engine isn't lacking for power with 346/325.

Could just be the air, maybe a strong headwind, and the DA does make a big difference.
That said, most of the power is concentrated above 3500rpm so he may need to launch at higher rpm to get away quicker. Having 4.10s in the rear also means he has to shift into 4th before the 1/4 mile trap and that could also be slowing him down.

Well i had 373s before but ran thru 3rd gear same mph 105-106
I am crossing the traps in 4th at almost 6k now. But how am i running so much slower these times are on the same days as others bolt on 3vs running 110. I havent driven onebut they pull on me after the 1/8 mile

Have you thought about trying a bigger tire? I gained in my ET going to a smaller tire but I lost on my trap speed. Used to do 117-118 with the 29" tires. On my 28's I run 116-117 but like I said, my ET is quicker by a tenth or two.

And I don't see anything as far as suspension mods. What tire are you running?

- what suspension work has been done, and how is it configured?
- remove as much weight as you can, every little bit helps with an N/A car (shaker sub/amps, pass seat, rear seat back/bottom, front sway bar, etc. it all adds up).
- those heavy wheels and low profile tires are doing you zero good at the drag strip
- what RPM do you launch at?

maybe they have their suspension/tires dialed in for the track?

my first 1/4 mile pass back in the fall of 2013 (right lane in time slip pic) I had UCA/LCA,LCA relo brackets, cobra jet springs, strange single adj struts/shocks, 17" m/t bias ply rear tires on OEM wheels and a gutted trunk. K&N CAI, frpp shorty headers, OEM h-pipe with cats, steeda UDP, 93 dyno tune putting down 302rwhp/317rwtq on a dynojet

There you go. Run the MT's and watch your trap speed increase.

I think he lacks the hp and mph to really benefit from a 28" and hes bringing the 4.10s down quite substantially. I say keep working with 26" but move to a bias ply tire.
