Data logging with laptop

I ordered a tune from Lito, and he told me to get data logs by connecting a laptop to the car through my SCT tuner with the USB cable that came with the tuner (the one you normally use to connect the tuner to a computer). He also sent an older version of Live Link that he likes to use.

How does that work? I've only ever gotten data logs just with the tuner itself so I'm not familiar with this process. Can someone fill me in on the steps as to how to do it?

If you have logged before, it will be easier with Lito, all the pids are preselected and all you do is plug in and save the log. You don't have to go and select which you want. I LOVE my lito tune

Actually reread your comment. You need your computer in the car, start the program and plug the tuner in. Start the car and click record. Very simple, I'll see if I can find the step by step instructions when I get home.

I would appreciate that, I hooked the tuner up to the car through the laptop and I'm not sure how to get the computer connected that way...it says device initialization failed, I'm not sure how to actually connect it TO the car.

So far I only have his baseline tune...but it's pretty good, it fixed the bouncing idle I had with my old Bama tune, without me even having to do anything.

I still haven't gotten any datalogging done, I have to borrow the laptop from a friend that works weird hours...I'll get it one of these days.

Man, I've tried twice now and I can't get the computer to connect to the car through the tuner. I watched a youtube video and I'm doing everything shown on the video, except when I hook the computer to the tuner (with the tuner connected to the car and the key on), the tuner doesn't change to the screen that says "LiveLink connected" or whatever it is...it doesn't do anything at all. I'm not sure what the problem is.
