Well believe it or not I have had it to 138mph on GPS with the speedo pegged(obviously) but I don't expect to ever hit 180, but I'm gonna basically do a full cobra r drivetrain swap(5.4l 4v w/cobra heads and intake, t56 close ratio 6spd) so it would be cool to have it match lol

I've topped out the speedo on the highway several times. Car feels like it's going to 'splode but that's besides the point.

I know a lot about gauge clusters... I don't remember any of the cobra's from 94-04 topping out at 180? Most were 160. With Saleen Topping at 200.

EDIT: Learned something new... after researching it, it seems the Cobra R "did" have a 180 cluster... I also checked them out. Expect to spend ~750$ for a working one...

I'll probably just get a custom made 180mph overlay, not the whole cluster. Obviously will need a tune to get the RPM and MPH right.

Btw 200 would be sweet lol! But then that's just rice haha. 180 is actually achievable but very unlikely.

200 reminds me of the movie "Arthur" with russel brand, when he gives the blonde girl a check for $990,000 or something like that because $1,000,000 would be vulgar lol.

could the S/C saleen even hit 200? I do remember seeing those gauges going up to 200.

I absolutely doubt it, unless you dropped some serious coin into it. The 2000 cobra R was long thought of as the ultimate mustang of the late models. Fully track ready and built to compete against Vettes and vipers, and it wouldn't do it.

Ya considering my 12 year old 240,000mi V6 gets within 20-30mph of that. My autobahn gears obviously help lol

Low res pictures because autoguide won't let me load bigger pics and I don't want to deal with photobucket lol

Lol I would but with paint stuff, I'd rather go about it alone haha. Greasy little hands and fish eye go together like spaghetti and meatballs.

Plus my 2 step kids 8 and 10 love going for rides in the mustang, just not working on it, and my daughter, well she's 16 months old.

Thank ya kindly. I'm probably gonna do the carpet as well, but I will most likely buy black vs painting.

I'm curious to see how the carpet section on the door panel will go. I might pull it off and do a carbon fiber section instead.

Or do some perforated paneling painted black, with white underneath. This stuff:

Thoughts?

Ok turns out under the carpet is pretty nasty.
Pics: New Black Interior(no more poo brown)-imageuploadedbyautoguide1352686048.602011.jpg
I'm probably going to go with that thick carbon fiber overlay tape stuff. Once I sand most of this area smooth it should hide a lot of the crap under there. If that doesn't work, I will reupholster with black carpet.

All finished with CF inlay

Close up of inlay

I really wish the inlay would have turned out a little better but what are ya gonna do? It'll never be seen except when the door is open and won't be overly noticeable. If I still don't like it, black carpet here we come.!
