Iconiq when i had my side exhaust done the shop charged me $30 a side for the tubing and labor. I had a prochamber welded up for another $25. I didn't like the overall sound of side pipes but it was interesting. I now run flow 10s out the back (with my bumper cut out for tips).

Yeah no more jack point. Would have to get the jack under the diff case for now on.

I think we are wasting our time responding to this guy though. Seems like just another person who comes in, makes one post and never to be seen again. I would love to be proven wrong though.

AndyG47 Well the other thing too is that Roush flattens the pipes to that there's better clearance. I've also seen versions where they use a flat tip that's been notched to clear the pinch fold/weld(?) - that metal bar you're supposed to jack from but ends up flattening out.

Iasis Here is my side "dumped" setup. There is not a lot of room under there since this is a solid axle car so you need to allow for full droop of the rear suspension but it works. Prepare to drop some dollars on a setup like this if you aren't making it yourself though.

Zombiefro Yup! As everyone else has said, you'll need the skirts to look good, I've had them previously but ended up selling, to get a good looking side exhaust prepare to spend $$$$$$$$

SlowSix What he said. Either get the skirts or leave it alone.
I don't think there is enough room to run it out of the skirts, plus it will look like crap if you cut a hole in the skirt anyways

boattlebot From what I rember about my last trip under the car, there isn't enough room to run pipe out the skirt. Only hangs an inch or so lower then the body.
It's also hard to find the Roush sideskirts. Best bet is run it under the skirt, or just leave it going out the back.

Side exhaust exits on an '03 V6

Hey all,

This is my first post to Modded Mustangs and I'm glad to finally be apart of the posting community. You guys are great and are part of the reason my 3.8L is in good shape.

For the past few months I've been trying to budget and decide if I should upgrade to a V8 or just wait until I can afford a new S550. Pretty much I love my V6 too much to let it go and I want to learn more and see what I can manage to do with her.

I have a few bolt on mods but my next step is I want something like a Roush side exhaust set up. Currently I have a MAC catback exhaust on my V6 and I'm going to try and take it to an exhaust shop and see if they can come up with a custom side exhaust setup. I'm going to order the Roush tips along with this.


The reason why I'm posting is because I'm totally not in love with the whole Roush Body kit and if I just get the skirts for the side exit exhaust I feel it will look odd without the other body pieces. My question is, would I be able to have an auto body or an exhaust shop cut of the hole for the exhaust tip into the stock skirt of the Mustang? I was trying to look but I'm not sure if the body gets in the way and I wasn't sure if a muffler shop would be able to cut into the plastic.

I know I'll appreciate the feedback from you guys and if I've screwed anything up with this post please let me know!
