Just because someone has vision problems doesn't mean they can't be successful at something else. I had the same opportunity to study and get scholarships as the other folks I went to school with, but I didn't take that opportunity. I later had the opportunity to start working in the field I originally wanted to go to college for, without a college degree, and I did take that opportunity and I've been successful so far at it. But, all along, I've had the same amount of opportunity as anyone else, just with a different skill set.

|Durr4456||So we all have the same opportunity. Period. Got it. So someone who has vision problems can get an ATP rating. Gonna write that down. (I know it's a stretch to say the least)|

My two aluminum bicycles (a Trek 6300 and a Motobecane road bike) simply evaporated. There was no aluminum slag left on the ground for me to clean up, no puddle, nothing. The tires burned off the wheels, the wheels were steel, so they remained, the gears remained, the chain remained, but the bikes were non-existent. They evaporated because I had them hung in the rafters, where the heat rose up. That's why the frame of his Lambo is mostly still there, the heat went up.

We all have the same opportunity, not the same abilities, or the same personality.
I had the OPPORTUNITY to do my homework in school, study up, pass all the tests, get a scholarship and go to a "good school" and make more money than I do now. I did not TAKE that opportunity. I am the reason I am where I am at. Not because of priveledge, not because of where I was born, where I grew up, but because of the choices I made during life.
Luckily, I chose to learn about computers from a very early age, and I was intelligent enough to pass my classes even though I took failing grades on my homework. My C average may not have gotten me a free college education, but after paying for two years of college by working my ever loving ass off and teaching myself to do the homework, I decided to stop going to college and work for a living. I worked my way up from a line worker at a television plant up to the IT department head for my company with no college education.
We all have the same opportunity, with the qualifier of being in America. We all get to go to school, now we all get fed breakfast and lunch in school whether our parents can afford it or not, but from there we have to CHOOSE to learn. If we don't we waste the opportunity we were given.
We may not have the ability to make baskets in a trash can, or to learn how to do advanced calculus, but we all have the opportunity to do so.

|Levi||I didn't say life was fair, all the students were given the same opportunity, they all had a ball and a chance to make it into the trash can, "Most of the students in the front of the room made it" Most...|

Yeah but if you're telling me someone born into English royalty has the exact same opportunities as someone born in a favela in brazil, you're out of your mind.
This is a good way of explaining it. http://twentytwowords.com/what-will-...our-privilege/

|kmac1622||When ever I think of someone having something nice always think of what my dad did when he was my age. He worked one job to afford his Trans Am, but he wanted a new motorcycle but couldn't afford it, so he got another part time job to buy it. I see it all the time working in Retail LP. People stealing stuff from the company and from employees then they hop in their Audi and drive away.|

Seen this today. We can't have nice things because of these types of cunts.
Semi related, I was at the track a few days ago. I was lowering tire pressure on the pass side of the car. I go around to the drivers side to see some chick leaning against the front fender. What the fuck. I asked her to stopping leaning on my car. She then gives me the shit eye as if I offended her. Fuckin twunt, that isn't your property. Stay off of it and respect other people's shit.

|Destination S197||It took me a long time to get to the point where I could finally buy one of my dream cars. They'd never find the body of the person that torched mine.|

Social media has made this 10000x worse, I'll post on facebook about how I'm proud of a new purchase or a vacation, usually something that I've saved up for, and without fail damn near every time there's going to be someone that throws a bitch fit saying shit like "you don't know my struggle, some people have it hard blahblahblah"
I'm a firm believer that life is what you make it. You want fun toys, the ability to travel, a job you enjoy, then its all on you to GO FUCKING GET IT!

How exactly am I supposed to have respect for your thoughts about the death of a person (who was at that time trying to kill a police officer, but that's another argument) when you have so little respect for me and everyone else that you will block our access to stores at Christmas, access to airports to see our families, attend funerals, etc, and prevent me from safely traveling from point a to b?
Their complete lack of respect is the exact opposite of what a peaceful protest should be. Want to meet at city hall and stand on the steps and have your protest? Fine. Want to do it in a park? Go for it. But for crying out loud, have enough respect for your fellow humans (and remember, you want us to respect your life as mattering too) to let them do their business.

|Levi||I hate hearing, and its because ive heard it most my life, is "Must be nice." Because I have busted my but and earned something, what give you the entitlement to bad mouth my hard work, you could of had it just as easily as I could, but no you would rather bathe in jealousy. I hate people.|

People who have no respect for other people (their lives, their property, their job, etc) have no issue feeling "justified" for destroying something that belongs to someone they feel is in the wrong. In this case, it's the guy doing work he was contracted out for.
I've seen comments, "Serves him right for destroying history" and "No one deserves a car that nice anyway" about that, and it sickens me. Who are you to tell me what I deserve? I've busted my ass my entire life for what I have, and you have no right to take it away from me because your stupid, lazy ass can't be bothered to work your ass off and earn it yourself.
Pisses me right off, and it's only going to get worse. Crap like this is exactly why we have an actual chance to elect a fucking socialist as the President of the United States.
