barnz01gt I recently finally got my password reset, it’s been a few years since I’ve been very active here. The mustang has taken a back seat to the new house unfortunately but soon I’ll be giving it some love lol. Anytime I have a real tech question I still look here first before posting on a Facebook group

Hellsperm Still alive here. Been gone for a while, life and my job got in the way, but I'm still around. Actually planning on doing a Supercharger install that I was already putting together before life got in the way. I'm going to be installing a Vortech V-2 with a treadstone intercooler with methanol injetion as well as a whole return style fuel setup (tank to injectors), new cams, some more gauges, torque box re-enforcent, subframe connectors and more. Gonna try and do a write up along with it.

WrenchThrower Just logged in after forever. Still have the car, added long tube headers team z front k member and coilovers with strange shocks. Oh, and window tint. Getting a bunch of restoration stuff, door lock solenoids, side skirt pop rivets new seat belt ect. Next mod should be a high stall torque converter. Been kicking around idea of getting wide band and pro racer package to learn some new stuff.

That sucks Sonic. How far is the closest track? I used to drive 65 miles (each way) to Cecil County, with the car loaded with tools and tires. Now I live much closer to a drag strip (MIR is only 20 miles away). I may get back into it, though...the last few times I raced, the car ran perfectly. I remember thinking that it wasn't going to do better than 10.30's, so the next step would be swapping the T-trim to a YSi.

ZEN357 I'm still here at least once or twice a week. I don't like Facebook or any other social media platform (Government database so they can track us). Need I say more?

Most of my posts were concerning drag racing, but I haven't been to the strip in 3 years. Ironically, the car was finally running perfectly when I stopped racing it. Been barely driving the car since, because of a new job. So my activity in these forums diminished. Was considering selling the car, but that would be difficult. Besides, I don't think I could go through with it. So I just began working on it again to make it more streetable and fun. First thing on the list was replacing the faceplated tranny with a T56 magnum (just finished that project). Next will be replacing the 90/10 struts and tightening up the suspension.
I have always tried to avoid taking it to the extreme in one department or the other for fear of making it unenjoyable. However in the pursuit of power, i have fallen into the rabbit hole. I am almost finished with my build and all i want to do is drive it like a normal car again. I havent driven it regularly in 3 years. So i feel your pain. The only thing oem on my car is the tranny.. somehow it still hasnt died. We will see with this new turbo i am putting on.

evil02gt I've been away for awhile but I'm back. Starting back on my car. Totally gutted it ditched the supercharger setup and now going back with a single turbo setup.

WickedSnake00 I can't imagine running those old cars on the period correct poly glass bias plies. Thankfully they were outdated by newer radials when I was growing up, and I still run radials on them.

Photobucket pretty much killed the visual history of our forum. I switched to imgur.com for pictures. When posting pictures to the forum copy the IMG image and paste it in your comments.

Below is the car I bought after graduating from high school. It is a 1966 Dodge Coronet 500 with a 426 Wedge, 4 speed transmission and dual line Holley 850. The picture was taken when I was stationed in Arizona.

We used to street race and had quarter mile painted on one of the highways complete with staging area. It lost only one race. That was against a 1969 Chevelle with a 396. He jumped me more than a car length out of the hole and I just couldn't make up all the difference. He beat me by a fender. His secret weapon was wide oval tires. As soon as I could I ditched my 8.75 x 14s and bought some Poly Glass H70 wide ovals. His car looked like this one. You can see his secret weapon in the picture.

Pictures really can make a story. Its unfortunate that Photobucket screwed us over.

Parker Lewis Thanks for the good luck Porter, I'm in Austin too. If I ever get this thing rolling i'll probably show up at one of the car meets.
