LtHank oh yea no doubt. and then even within a couple years when used ones are on the lot i bet they are still in the upper 20's. not to mention insurance is gona rape you im sure, as well as trying to quench the thirst of that 6.2l.

White99stang exactly and i know most of the young guys on here can't afford a 35-40k vehicle. Hell i make bank and i could barely get a 30k loan. I mean you can bargain right now on trucks but when that one comes out with the market adjustment i really won't be surprised if its over 45k easy. I mean its SVT for crying out loud, they overprice everything.

i agreee. everyone keeps talking about how theyre gona get one but if they manage to maintain the hype the price is easily gona be 40k+. hell the normal f-150 are mid 30's anymore. Resale is probably gona be high as shit too. Just like most other svt vehicles.

I doubt this will ever be offered with a manual transmission.

Diesel motor would be too heavy for this kind of truck and have the wrong kind of powerband. Raptor needs a horsepower motor, not a torque motor. They just need to get rid of that LAME grill (which I trust the will, as I've seen it on a lot of their recent concept trucks, and it has yet to make it into production).

I do agree that a Diesel Power Wagon would've made a lot of sense.

White99stang yeah i hope you can handle a 750 dollar car payment, and sure hope you have a nice bank that will give you a 30k+ loan even with selling your car for down payment.

Dansby We'll have to see what happens. I've always wanted a truck though. But I might wait till my 2nd or 3rd year in college to get it...

Good call, haha.

whiteboycustom We have been hearing chatter and rumors from various sources and we have confirmed that Ford is working on a long travel version of the all-new 2009 F-150, codenamed “Raptor”. The on again, off again program appears to be on again and is far along in its development.

From what we have gathered, the truck is probably a year and a half or two years away from production if the program isn’t cancelled before then. Sources tell us that the truck is lower and wider than a standard F-150 and uses reservoir shocks that are being co-developed with Fox Racing. Tires are said to be in the 33-35-inch range and a selectable locker, first unveiled on the new F-150, is thought to be part of the package.

We also hear from sources that the truck (which probably won’t be called Raptor when it goes in to production) will feature unique styling with bulged fenders to accommodate the increased tire size and suspension travel.

Engine output is said to be “high”, and will probably will use the upcoming Boss V-8, possibly an EcoBoost turbocharged varient. In fact, the Raptor has been mistaken for the next Lightning in F-150 enthusiast circles, based on the rumored engine.

Excited? So are we. As we learn more information, we will be sure to keep you in the loop. Special thanks goes to PickupTrucks.com: Pickup Truck News, Reviews, Community and Help Finding a New or Used Pickup and Brian Williams for Brenda Priddy & Company for the photo.
