Hey guys, No, I havent gotten a chance to get the engine in the car yet. We did end up getting the 331 stroker though. Were hopeing to get started on it soon. Teh first order of business is to pull the car out get it all cleaned up, and strip the engine bay, trunk bay, and the underside of the car.
I have used this before with excellent results on a minitruck that layed frame. I really like the product and the way it lays down, so Im doing the engine bay, underbody, trunk bay, inner fenders, and interior in this liner. Its lightweight, and really cuts down on road noise, and its fairly cheap.
After that the next step is to go through the engine and make sure everything looks good, find a trans, get them mated up, and installed in the car. Gonna have to make my own trans x-member, or buy one.
I will post lots more pics as soon as we get her cleaned up.
I wanna ask you guys a question. The picture below is the shape of my door panel inserts, and they are warping from the humidity down here. What do you think it would look like in a 1/4 inch maple or birch ply. I can do wood work so staining them, and finishing them wont be a problem. Im just not sure it will look good.

I know this thread is old but just wanted to know if you put that engine in yet?
I'm putting in a 302 with the same intake and was wondering if the regular EFI Strut tower brace conversion they sell over the internet would clear that intake...anyone?

|Phatboy||Do I really want rubber mounts? This engine has a decent cam in it, and I dont wanna be replacing mounts once every summer. Will the rubber ones hold up to it?|

Ok guys, I have run into a bit of a problem.
I know the frame brackets that are allready in the car which the 390 was used with will still work. I did pick up that 331 mentioned above, but I dont know what engine mounts to get.
Please help me with that?

I hope your putting that twin turbo motor in your avatar in the 67. Do you have a link to your build?
The motor is built as a low compression motor running 10:1 for a turbo, but its allready at 450 or so hp. I doubt it will ever get a turbo. Supercharged maybe.
I went and picked it up yesterday. I still have to source alot of parts, but it will all come together eventually.

Looks like a really good project you have on your hands. I'm currently still in the middle of the build of my 67 fastback with the EFI swap. The best of luck to you, and remember to have fun!!!!
P.S. that motor sounds like it will do a lil damage!!

Possible motor find. Talking things over with the guy right now.
Coast High Performance Pro Street 331 ford based stroker motor for sale or trade. It has all Probe/ Scat forged internals. It has been internally balanced and blueprinted. the internals are rated for 800 horse power and the block with girdle up to 650 hp. It has the following features:

67 coupe restomod
Well My name is Logan. I got this 67 coupe from a guy in Chicago for 3,500 bux. He had taken the engine out and taken it apart then stopped working on it. MY TURN!! We got this car back in 2006, and moved it from chicago to louisiana, and now its time to get started on it.
Plans are to install an EFI 5.0 and 5spd from a fox body.(I have located a cobra motor swapped fox...stay tuned for that to unfold.)
Overall the car is in good shape. It had a 390FE with C6 in it. Has a detriot locker rear end with 3.73s I think. I need to roll the tires and see. Possible paint job includes a medium metallic red where its black now, and a metallic creme where its white. Rims will be no larger than 17s. As big as I can go without tubbing it in the back, with 235/45/17s up front.
Interior will remain basically stock. Im seriously considering making the center door inserts out of wood, and possibly the dash insert as well. Im pretty good with woodwork. There will be some fiberglassing going on here and there for details like tweeters. I will also be building a nice center console that will most likely get covered in leather to match the seats.
