8850d I have to re open this thread based on the person that said bolt on parts do nothing. Are you serous? I know bolt on parts to work and do add power not only make it fell more powerful but it makes it more powerful all I know is when I got my bone stock mustang my buddies integra would eat me up all tho he had a lot of money in his not stock integra so I bought a bunch of bolt on parts header intake exhuast throttle body mass air and upper intake haven't done heads yet BUT those are just bolt on parts and know I own that integra he gets mad he can't touch me so if you really think bolt on parts are pointless you are mistaken bolt on parts allows a motor to breath easier there for producing more power look at dyno numbers just from some like bbk equal length headers added on a car or full exhuast the numbers do jump and when you build a bigger motor if you do it all right you already have the upgraded bolt ons you need. Like for me im going to build a stroker motor you can't run stock shit on a stroker motor with heads lol them crimped POS exhuast manifolds on a 1988 GT LOL are so sad I have seen civic with bigger none crimped ports then these mustangs that have stock manifolds vs headers.

these blocks arent hard to find and they are barely if ever in a shape that you cant machine them right. Ive seen tons of 150k+ truck engines come out and they are good and true. You are gonna hone/bore it so it doesnt matter there and I have yet to seen a stock usage engine that was twisted or out of whack. You need to shop around more. For a stock iron block I wouldnt give more than 150-200 bucks. 700 ONLY if its already machined, freeze plugged etc and ready to assemble

pretty much everything. if anyone has anything useful at all new or used id be interested to hear about it and how much they are selling it for. right now terry at street lethal has a used 5.4 block and a set of heads for me. im overpaying for the block at $700 and hes selling me the heads for a steal at $1500 considering the valves, springs, lifters, etc im getting with them. but thats all we have right now. i play to buy manly rods and pistons and id love to get my hands on an intake(sullivan, boss 290, etc) if by some miracle someone had one sitting around. but seriously, man... if anyone has anything i could use if its in good condition and the price is right they might as well consider it sold.

4.6 heads will be fine on a 5.4. The thing with the 5.4 is navi motors have their own heads that have a larger intake port. Naturally the intake on a navi has the larger ports to match the heads, but it only matches those heads. If you think the navi intake is a waste of heads then there is no problem with using 4.6 4v heads. The other 5.4 option is GT/R heads that allow you to use the cobra R intake, but those parts are probably not going to just fall into your lap. So really you can have a boss 290 intake, sullivan intake or cobra intake with adapters. All of those are made to match the ports of normal C heads, the heads you would find on a 4.6.

think of the 4.6 engine as a lower case "v" and the 5.4 as a tall upper case "V".

same block, one is taller. the intake will be used to bridge the gap at the top of our Vs and make a triangle. because the 5.4 is taller it places the ports on the cylinder heads afrther apart than those on the 4.6. the line you would drawn to make a triangle out of the upper case "V" would be longer than the line to make a triangle out of the lower case "v"

can you dig it?
