I just did the same swap with my 2006 gt. My wheel control lights up when the lights are on. I seen to have all the issues with my install though. My media controls shows different resistance values for each media button but my PAC swi-rc doesn't detect the entry via purple wire from the wheel to the white wire of the PAC. My cruise control just doesn't work when I tested it on the highway going 60mph. My wheel version doesn't have the SYNC button or the phone button. Any advice? |

I'm thinking it may be my ground loop. On the ground bolt I have 3 wires. I have the green wire eyelet from old connector, the green from the new harness, and there's a black wire with an eyelet from the new harness also. I didn't see this wire on the writeup. Should this be grounded? |

Hi ! First mod on my Mustang ! Can somebody help me ? I am doing the Shelby GT500 wheel in a 2007 Mustang GT Shelby BUT my old connector does not have the same colors as in the example. I have no white, no green and no red. Seems to me that red (power) is black and green (grouns) is black too. But white ? Thansk for your help.![]() ![]() |

Tbones80 | Finally got around to looking at it again. Have code p0581 cruise control circuit A high. Going to take apart my connection and resolder them. See if it makes any difference. |

08-045 | 2 questions, what step can I stop at if I only want the horn and cruise control to work? Also do I need to remove the U shaped horn piece if Im not worried about the other controls? The new wheel has the U shaped horn piece already in place. Thanks |

crackpotfox | I can't see the pic well, but I want to guess to try and help you out. I can't tell if its brown to blue or not in the first pic. Did you confirm all the wire colors to be correctly matched according to the op? |

OK here's the pics. Anyone see anything wrong? 1st pic is the 4 wires Ive soldered together from new harness to old connector. 2nd pic is the wires left over in the new harness along with the black wire eyelet that I am grounding on the small torx bolt. 3rd pic is everything, shows the green ground wire, with the green wire from from new harness soldered to it and I also put that black wire eyelet with it. 4th pic is the cruise control buttons with harness, just showing the wire colors that come out of it. |

acharmedmatrix | Ground is the same at all points of the vehicle so that should be fine. I believe you are the only one to get audio but not cruise. I'll check back for your pictures |

Tbones80 | Yes I've ground the black wire with an eyelet. Still doesn't work. The black wire is hooked with the green at the connector. Have the green hooked to the harness ground and the black to the small Allen bolt. Maybe should both be ground to same wire? I'll take pics this weekend and post them, see if you can find a hole in my wiring. All connections are soldered so shouldn't be a connection issue. Think I'm the only person here with no issues with audio but do with cruise control lol. |

I believe all of the cruise functions go through one wire and it uses different resistors to change up the signal. If your connection is not 100%, the resistance may not be what it is supposed to be and the computer is not recognizing the signal. Just a thought. And I would ground the black wire with the eyelet. It sounds like it's set up as a ground wire. |

Tbones80 | Yes I was testing on a highway. I'll double check that connection. If good I'll post some pics of my wiring then you can see if any things wrong. |

Before you go digging back in... you made sure to test the cruise while going over 35, right? |

TTS197 | Great write up. I can see this in my future... especially since my steering wheel is probably the most worn item in the car = ( |
