|tnknepp||I agree with Cooter. There are many wonderful things that can be done to parts that have some foundation to build from. Anything with bad chrome can be re-chromed provided what you are chroming isn't destroyed (though it can be very expensive). Minor dents can be fixed, and so long as the engine is in good condition and is properly stored it is definitely a keeper. I have a 65 that has been under water (before I got it) so the seat springs and vinyl are shot, and I'm not keeping those because they are useless; just as an example.|

|CooterTKE||my rule of thumb is that if it is broken or otherwise unrepairable then chuck it. People do not want the junk they cannot restore.|

Restomod - what to keep for next owner?
I am beginning my first project. I want to modernize a bit under the hood, bolting on some HP while probably keeping the original block (302). What do I keep for the possible future contest restorer, if any, here and around the car?
I assume I keep heads, carb, distributor - stuff like that. But how about stuff like rusted pipes, radiator, fuel lines, heater core - stuff like that? Are there any guidelines? Keep anything with a stamped number?
