We have some awesome people on this forum. I just wanted to say thank you to all of you have posted support for me. I honestly didn't know what to expect when I posted, but I have been pleasantly surprised thus far. I realize that I could still face the opposite from some members, but it's ok. I'll figure out who my true friends on this forum are . I <3 you guys!

It's tough but we're hoping for the best here in NY. It just takes a couple states to show the SCOTUS it's an emerging trend that we can all stand behind. It's ridiculous to think that homosexuality isn't a class eligible for strict scrutiny in the court system.

We're dealing with political fillibustering on the marriage bill in NY right now, but five other states have already gotten it, so we're hopeful. I don't care what they call it, it's nonsense to prevent people from enjoying the privileges of a marriage simply because they are attracted to the "wrong" sex.

I'm all for it. I'm unaffected. I think even if I were gay and wanted to get "married" I wouldn't care if it was called married, marrig, farriedrededer, or fluxcapacitor'd. As long as it's a recognized legal union, who cares.

Thank you

I seriously appreciate all of you more than you know. At least now I don't have to be so nervous about seeing any of you at Mustang Week .

Well this thread took off in a hurry from last night.
All I can say Tink is im glad you found that right person in life and hope it all goes great for you.
There was some comment's in this thread that I can't believe were said and lot's of other one's that I couldn't agree with more.
I have a couple gay member's in my close family and a couple as friend's and when I have to see them deal with ignorant asshole's in life it pisses me off more then it does them.
My uncle is gay on my father's side my aunt's brother is gay and my cousin just reacently came out of and I finally met his boyfriend last month.
As far as the genetic thing goes I remeber when I was younger hanging out with my cousin and at a young age I noticed he was different from me and my friend's, so I believe you were born that way.

Had to go back and read Tink's post after I skipped forward. Repped you Tink, way to go, really.

As far as words like "fag", I use it all the time just in reference to someone being stupid. >_>

I think we should go the South Park route and change the definition to someone loud and obnoxious

Thank you . I DESPISE words like "fag", "homo", "dyke", etc. etc. It's very rude and demeaning and personally when I hear someone say it, it screams ignorance. I also hate it when people refer to things as being "gay". I swear, sometimes I feel like we're back in elementary school when we had no sense. LOL.

Yeah I agree. Go watch a South Park episode called "The F Word" and tell me what you think, LOL. I don't like homo, dyke, or anything like that. I just wish the societal norm definition of fag could be changed, as sometimes it slips out and I'm not huge on offending people.

Oh well, perhaps that's the next crusade?

And till this day I don't say those word's doesn't matter how mad I am or what happen.

"homo" as a word is more of a slang term, mostly considered a derogatory thing towards homosexuals, so I'd imagine it's just for that.

"Homo" as part of "real" words is just a stem of sorts. Homophobic, homosapien, etc. etc.

But what do I know. D:

As a pretty advanced species, we've developed the ability to defeat other natural population control measures. I'm not saying that homosexuals are genetically driven to mate with the same sex, but rather, theyve genetically lost the preference to reproduce and instead look to just bone anything on two legs regardless of what's between those legs. With that, instead of having a "gay gene" they just don't have that "species survival" gene. Just a theory.
Ugh. I couldn't agree more! It I feel has a lot to do with population control. Species survival depends on resources and we adapt to our surroundings. Therefor when we get to the point where we are stressing them we evolve to keep things under control to keep the species strong.

It definatly has to do with your genes and your DNA makeup. If you understand the human body you know it's all hormones and genes that drive us an keep us all unique. Could be anything from evolution and genetics to a hormonal imbalance but it is DEFINATLY not a choice

Some people use the word 'homo' as a means of being offensive moreso than an abbreviation of the word homosexual.

BML I have a different view on using the term. I mean no disrespect by it, just like i WILL use the N word from time to time talking to my black friends.

Maybe its because the people i know that are homosexual and black understand i do not use the terms to offend. I use the term homo as short. When im talking to a black friend i say the N word as "fellow black person" not as a disrespectful term. Yes i know im not black but they understand color has NOTHING to do with our friendship.

I have never heard the word "homo" used when someone is being nice towards homosexual people
