Had this discussion earlier. The reason I think he has gained so much traction and notoriety is because everyone is sick of the political rethoric and bull shit that has become so common place in America. People are getting sick of the PC movement where you must sensor everything as to not offend grown adults with something so simple as "Pit bulls are ugly and can attack people." I realize that is not really something a politician will say, but say something as stupid and meaningless as that on social media and just watch how many people get offended and outraged by a stupid comment like that.
I don't think he would make that great of a President due to how he doesn't think before speaking. I realize that is part of his not giving a shit about PC, but I think he's a little TOO over the top with being willing to say anything. Especially about McCain's service record. However, it was in reaction to McCain calling his followerers "Crazies", so really, he just kind of proved he wasn't putting up with anyone's shit. However, he insulted a lot of Veterans in the process lol. But on the surface, who cares. He poked a little fun at McCain, this won't affect him in the least with people who were already set on voting for him. They know his eccentricities.
I personally think it's a good thing. Would I vote for him? I don't know, but if it was between him and Bernie or Hillary, hell yes I would. Whether you or I would vote for him or not does not take away from what he is doing though, and that is showing a lot of the GOP and other Politicians what people want. It's showing them people are tired of this political rhetoric where you say one thing and do the complete opposite. When we were kids we are told thats LYING, but when you're a politician they call it rhetoric.
One thing I do not like about it, but I am not surprised is how the spineless Hillary that has zero talking points is using it to her advantage by calling him a representation of the entire GOP and their thoughts. That's how it is hurting the GOP, but is it really? That's the same old song and dance people are getting tired of. A politician placing the blame and pointing the finger at everyone else instead of coming up with a solution, or a real statement. So really this could backfire for her for the swing voters. Obviously the hard core lefties really don't give a shit what her or Bernie have or currently done, they will still vote. They could cover up tens of thousands of emails, or a terrorist attack abroad, being caught in lie after lie and claim to know how the little person feels all while raking in hundreds of thousands of dollars per speech. Oh wait, Hillary has done litterally all of those things? Yup, they still don't care.
Here's another way I look at it and some food for thought. So Trump doesn't have any experience in Foreign relations, no knowledge over Military manuvers and logistics, no experience in Nuclear programs and secret agencies. But, it's it really that big of a deal? In the real world a CEO doesn't know every job i, his business, the difference is that they hire experts in those areas to handle those sectors for them and report back with the data daily. Where politics differs is you have people who think they know everything about everything. Obama has been caught saying he can do every job better than every one of his employees. He has an ego the size of Texas and is not ashamed to show it. He clearly thinks there is no one better than himself at anything the government does. The difference here is a real leader admits they do not know everything, but as a collection of properly selected personel they know a lot more.
Why not allow the Generals, the guys who actual have made the Military their life run the Military and make the suggestions. Instead of some Ivy League moron with zero experience who thinks he knows everything. And the hundreds of other seats in Washington that have a say in how we conduct combat operations. Why in the hell would we allow a bunch of people thousands of miles away, many with zero to little Military experience be calling the shots.
I think it's time we get rid of the know everything, lobbying, lying, do nothing politicians we have now. Do I think Trump is that man? I'm not sure as of now, but I do think he's making a lot of people realize that the problem in Wasington, is Washington. Not Democrat, not Republican. All of them!
