Wow, just saw that I got nominated for this. Thanks for that!

Unfortunately, my car is in pieces right now so I don't have any new pics. Will hopefully be back together and running by the end of the month.

At work so don't really have time to get into the nitty gritty but:

5.0L stroker - 393 STD RWHP, 358 RWTQ
106200 camshafts
Ported/Polished heads
Ported stock intake
Intake Spacer

03 Cobra IRS with Full Tilt Boogie Racing bushing kit and upgraded tie rods
4.10 Gears
Full Maximum Motorsports front suspension setup including coilovers

18x9/18x10 Silver FR500s

Pictures show flat black spoiler but I just recently had it painted so it will look 10x better once the car is back running again.

This is essentially it's current state, hope to have the engine/trans at least back sitting in the car by the end of this week depending on weather and my free time:

ADL February 11th, 2015 12:56 AM

Thank you for the nominations and to all of you who consider voting for me!

My name is Dennis, I'm 35 and this is my 1987 Mustang GT. I am the 4th owner and purchased it on February 15, 2013 with just 57,200 miles, totally stock except for a nice custom stereo and dark window tint. One of the rarest color packages offered in '87-'89. Full option delete car - no power anything, no cruise, originally am/fm radio, auto, hard to find factory 3.27 axle ratio and dealer special optioned Ford Motorsport 140 mph speedo. 100% factory original paint, rubber, trim, lights!, interior and mechanical components except for maintenance items.

The original owner was an older woman who worked for Kemp Ford of Thousand Oaks, California. Because she was employed at the dealership and lived close to work this car led a very pampered life with limited miles and a perfect service record. The 2nd and 3rd owners had the car for less than a year each. The 2nd owner did nothing but keep it clean and garaged, only driving it a handful of miles. The 3rd owner did manage to put about 1,200 miles on the odometer as well as a new set of tires, tint, stereo and killer paint detail.

I had decided at the start of 2013 that it was time to move on from my very modified '88 notchback that had served as daily driver for the better part of 14 years. The car had seen a lot of use and a lot of abuse. It also didn't comply (at all) will CA smog and I was getting tired of having to shell out pockets of 100 dollar bills to shady smog shops for a passing inspection.

In February of 2013 I started searching for a replacement Mustang. My search criteria: 1986-1993 LX or GT, low mileage, no hit, all original, no modifications, no convertibles. After a short two day search I came across a Craigslist ad late on a Monday night for this GT. The exact GT I had wanted since 1996 when I was 16 years old, which I fell in love with after buying a Chilton's repair manual with an identical GT on the cover! The only thing is that this color package is so hard to find (Oxford White over Titanium with blue accent stripe) that I never thought I would EVER actually own one in any condition, let alone mint. So hard to find that this car is only the second one I've ever seen in person in my 20 years of 5 Liter Mustang involvement. The first being in 1998, an '89 belonging to a friend of a friend.

The GT was located 2 hours north of me in the city of Santa Barbara, CA. After talking to the seller on Tuesday (kind of an odd guy and fairly frustrating to deal with) it became apparent that hooking up with him to look at the car in person was going to be difficult because he was only available during the week and I was only available on weekends. As luck would have it, one of my best friends, Christian, also lived in Santa Barbara and just a couple of miles from the seller. Christian and I had been wrenching on Mustang's together for 15 years and if I could trust anyone to look at the car for me, it would be him. Christian got together with the seller and reported back that if this GT is what I wanted he couldn't imagine finding a nicer car. I contacted the seller again and told him that I was ready to purchase the car for his asking price of $8,500 and that Christian would be doing the deal on my behalf. That was on Wednesday and the seller demanded cash only and completing the sale by Friday so that he could buy something else. I had the money, the only issue was that Christian didn't have a local bank making cashing a cashiers check or withdrawing a wire transfer impossible in short order. There was just one option. Taking an insanely stupid risk, on Thursday (Valentine's Day!) I stuffed 85 one hundred dollar bills into a UPS Next Day Air envelope and sent it out with the rest of the daily pickup from my work. And, no, I didn't sleep a minute that night!!! Luckilly, everything went okay. Christian got the cash the next morning and called me around noon to tell me he had the car in his possession. Two days later on Sunday morning my wife and I drove up to Santa Barbara and picked it up. It was so nice in-person that I was literally afraid to touch it and the two hour drive home was quite nerve wracking. To this day, as I sit here typing this I still can't believe that I actually own this car! I don't know what else to call it besides fate.

About two months after purchasing the GT another best friend, Matt, came over on a Saturday to assist in a 13 hour marathon installation of the group of modifications I had planned: H&R springs, Koni adjustable struts/shocks, MM camber plates, MM panhard bar, MM stock brake upgrade kit (MM braided hoses and stainless caliper bushings, Hawk HPS pads, heavy duty shoes), Power Slot rotors, ranger/aerostar axles & drums, ARP wheel studs, genuine FMS 17x9" '95 Cobra R wheels with 255/40 tires, Dynomax catback, FRPP aluminum driveshaft, Energy engine/trans mounts, K&N filter, vintage Ford Motorsport 8mm blue plug wires, air silencer removed, base timing to 14 degrees. The following weekend I proudly displayed the freshly set up GT at the annual Fabulous Ford's Forever all-Ford car show.

For two years now the GT has served as my daily driver to and from work, about 20 miles a day. No other modifications are planned. Just the basics for a nice, tasteful cruiser.
