Anyone know what glue/adhesive/putty to use to attach the complete headliner to the sheet metal ceiling in the car?

Nope, they are nice to have but not required. What is required is swapping the OEM pinion snubber for a shorter one.

Where are you located? If in San Francisco-Bay Area-Northern California I have Eibach Prokit that I can part with for cheap. Bought them new and swapped them out for stiffer springs after 20k miles.

I had this annoying problem myself at one point. In my case, replacing the retaining clips, slide pins and c-clips did not resolve the issue. I had to replace the cheap (Raybestos??) pads with Hawk...

I have one. Using it the same way as you. Adjustment for the 3.73 gears and the Diablo Performance Tune (91 Octane).

I also used it to remove the top speed limiter, but kept the Rev Limiter as-is....

Update.

I took the battery out, cleaned the terminals with battery cleaner and a wire brush. Took the battery clamps off the wires and cleaned that. And also cleaned the wires. Put it all back...
