The N/A Thread (Bolt-ons)

I want to make sure this is all correct so that someone else can easily see the information I looked for. Or if I decide to do it myself.
I took into account cash, MPG, sound and reliability.

1) Dual exhaust either divorced or H-pipe with Flowmaster 40's $300-400 Shop
2) Windstar conversion (65mm Throttle Body*) $300-400 DIY
3) SCT SF3 / X3 $380 DIY
4) Mac Longtubes $280 DIY
6) UDP $300 DIY
7) SSM Camshaft $550~ DIY
8) 3.73-4.10 gears* and a T-lock* $900 Shop
*These are optional because they have no real gains

After these mods your car should dyno at least 240rwhp 250rwtq and if you don't get the gears, 20/30 mpg. Now you have a custom built V6 that arguably sounds better and is as fast as a stock GT but cost you a several hundred more. But will save you money in gas and insurance. Also keep in mind you're missing all the extras a GT comes with like Fog lights, a V8 and sway bars.

Then after you get bored in a couple of weeks buy a centrifugal supercharger for extra power (320rwhp and 310rwtq) $3000 DIY
Yeah I know your car will no longer be naturally aspirated but for real performance gains there is nothing else you can do.
If you do choose to go with the supercharger it should be your last performance mod because you have maximized your stock engine and transmissions output. Also you should not need a car that's faster than this unless you like to waste money.

Youll need a tuner for the longtubes to turn off the code, and also a tuner for the gears and cam. Sct tuenr is just under 400 bucks. For the gears you can probly find an 8.8 rear with 3.73 or 4.10s in them used for under 500 if you look good enough.

Good rightup but you forgot other details. I like the rightup alot but im just giving you some pointers.
Favorating the V6
Insurance
Weight
Modded car apeal

Not in favor of the v6
Less potential
With all those mods inspection/ emmissions might be a bitch

Oh yeah I forgot about the tuner, and what do you mean inspection is going to be hard to pass?

I think you will fail in all states inspection becuase you need your catalytic converters to pass inspection. Getting longtubes deletes these and the only way to pass is get a catted midpipe. You also might fail emissions depending on how strict the place you live is. But you can always get a friend to help you out if they have a shop wink wink

I corrected it and now its all looking a bit more expensive like 3k in new parts but they could probably be found used for 2k.

Ok but what is a catted midpipe?

That's getting unreliable and expensive unless I were to swap in a used f150 engine

What does a bolt-on have to be specifically? and 1 isn't either.
Maybe a mod should change the title of this thread to mustang v6 budget mod NOOB list

Ok then, it doesn't matter what this thread should be called, this is still a good way to go so far as sound and decent acceleration or do you think my predictions are off I don't know any people who actually work on V6 mustangs so I have never seen anything that could give me an idea of what these mods would do for a car. For example the 20 city and 30 hwy or the 240hp/250tq

240 ish rwhp might be possible with a good 93oct tune. But you are going to have nowhere near 20/30 mpg. Your mpg will be far worse than that.

I went to school to be a mechanic, so I know what I'm talking about most of the time.

mods in the garage, slowly getting peppier.

I don't find 30 hwy out of a built n/a v6 possible at all... I mean under normal circumstances. But for what all this would cost I would save up for a used s/c kit

But what if I have a high mpg tune specifically for daily driving and another to get the most HP (keep in mind I will probably not get the gears and t-lock that's just so someone doesn't mention it.)

S/C = same price and more power.

A nice cam will hurt mpg, period.
