I don't really understand this whole "reps" thing, but I see people asking all the time.

So reps for being the first SN95NE with a removable hard top on here?(if I am lol)

See on the left there's a green dot under your post count? The more rep points you get, the more little dots you get (the number to get the next dot goes up significantly between each dot). You can check you most recent 5 or 10 reps from your profile. Or if you click User CP then click User Control Panel you can see your most recent 20 or 30 reps. Positive reps are generally given to people giving good advice, doing well on a project, as a return for receiving reps, etc. Negative reps are few and far between but mostly given to people being complete assholes. Don't give out negative reps for shits and giggles though (or positive for that matter). Abusing the rep system can get you infractions (build up too many and you get banned).

Why thank you sir very much. Figured it was something along those lines but wasn't quite sure lol.

On another note, I THINK I will have the top back at paint Friday to give it a final polish and possibly fix a few minor blemishes that I can't live with.

The guy at the shop is still being super cool, and is doing whatever it takes to get stuff right and make me happy. Really positive experience.

Thank you for the compliments, I'm happy with how it turned out. There's still some haters out there but I think it looks ok. Way better than the beige an duct tape job I had going on before lol

Ok so update time! Got my top back from paint again to fix a few blemishes, still gotta wait another week for wet sanding, cut, buff and polish.

Some progress made tho, finally fab'd up my brackets to mount the top and seat belts without the factory top frame in place. Now I can loose all that weight and start fabbing up a nice rear deck.

Here is a picture of the mounts:

I could have made them a lot fancier and look a lot better, but let's face it, they will never be seen... They sit behind the rear interior quarter panel so I'm happy with way they turned out lol.

Trust me, I'm a doctor.

When I took the top off to leave it at paint for a few days, I had to drive around with the soft top again. Took my car from ah, to blah!

Ok so update, got the old vert guts out today an that Shiz was HEAVY!
People pull out their rear seats, power steering, power brakes, A/C and spare tires to save what? 30lbs a piece? Well this thing had to be at least 100lbs. So basically I am Racecar right now. Lol

Here it is before the removal:

Look at all that heavy ass metal in there! Goodbye!

And POOF! All gone!

But oh no! Where will I mount my driver and pass seat belts now that the mounts are gone!?!

Oh ya, I made some mounts sweet!

And here it is all finished up!

What do you think?

Trust me, I'm a doctor.

Thank you guys!

Well, just drove her to pick up some food and wow, noticeably faster now

I don't think it's placebo effect because I go into most mods pretty pessimistic and if anything positive happens great, if not then I already expected it lol.

Sure is nice picking up some free noticeable power!

While the back is empty of junk and seat. Take this opportunity to give the body interior a fresh coat of paint. It's underneath and should show, but you're the guy who does everything 110%. You're also the guy who convinced me to start saving for one of these... after my donor gt, that is

Lol already was thinking of doing that, but I'll prolly wait because I plan on caging it so the paint will need to be sanded away to weld the plates and bars in, but after that, yes

And thanks again for the kind words and hope to see both the GT donor and new top from ya lol

If I get the donor GT, I bought a camcorder and tripod, and I'm literally planning on running it during the entire swap... so no more people ask about parts and pieces.

Weight loss in a car is the greatest thing you can do to make noticeable power.

it's one of the many reasons I swapped back to these Fugly rims, Instead of getting tires for my Starfish's.. xP
