In reverse it has a stall..

Whenever I try to go in reverse the car has to absolutely build up to 1500+ rpm in order to move. I have a jmod but thats it....
When I said in a previous post that I had a stall I meant that I also have to build up to 1500 to move the car at all. And when i'm WOT the car will take a little longer than usual to reach redline. its not spark related its tranny related I know for sure, any one have any suggestions?

Need to datalog it. rpm, tps, vehicle speed, actual slip across converter, command gear, tv pressure, etc... If the j-mod was done correctly it should snap into reverse. You may need some recalibration done to the tuning software.

Turbo 4.3 stroker, 6.73 @ 106mph...still tuning

do you have a bottle of new ATF? smell bottle, compared.

personally, atf has no smell.

Well damn the new atf bottle smells the same as my Tranny fluid.

then it should be good.

i was just saying that i dont smell anything when i smell atf. even gear oil isnt that bad to me.

tranny fluid is mostly pretty subtle...my wives grand cherokee takes that ATF+4...that stuff smells burnt coming outta the bottle, strong crap

I'll be datalogging tomorrow and sending it to Ortiz performance if he suggest that my converter is done,I have an excuse to get a 3200 stall.

Did you addd atf?

You should never have to rev your car up for it to move if there is the right amount of oil with a stock TC. Unless by some unforeseen event your pump died, but then it should not work at all and make horrible noises.

When i sold my f150, took a little more rpms than normal for it to move. Checked atf and it was low, put 2 liters in and sold the truck 1 hr later.

You can check the pump by taking one cooler line off and getting a bucket...start her up.
If the line pumps out into bucket then it works. Do it fast...the pump moves alot of fluid quickly.

ok so quick update I have added 3 full quarts and it reads full. when I put it in reverse I still have to climb to about 1600 rpm now. and when in reverse If I 35% throttle it, it will stall until 1500 and jump out of the hole like a bat from hell. but after the 2000rpm mark it will take a while to reach 6100rpm which is my redline set by Ortiz Performance,but the car feels sluggish like if its heavy as a tank.. I still haven't datalogged due to me being away from home and I forgot my usb cable. Does anyone know what the heck burnt tranny fluid smells like? I guess I just have to wait until I get home to datalog and check to see if my transmission pump is done with, but I have a question will a transmission with an effed up pump still run?

no, if your pump stops you will to.
had a pump go out before, your dead in the water.
