engine swap

im new to the forum and have a question about my 2002 with a 3.8 5 speed is it possible to swap to a 4.6 and if so can i still use the t5 transmission and my wireing harness or would i have to use the harness for the 4.6 any help would be appreciated

There is a lot more to the swap than dropping the motor in, some examples are a new k member and motor mounts. Also you will need a gt wiring harness and ecu. And no you cannot reuse your t5 because the bellhousing bolt pattern is not the same.

Bottom line, a lot of work will need to be done but it can be done. My advice, though, would be to sell your current mustang and buy a gt.

Swapping motors and transmission in the newer cars is not as easy as everyone makes it seem to be.
