Hey everyone! I’ve had my 2014 v6 for a bit over a year now and love it. I’ve started doing some basic mods, cold air intake and just had a muffler delete done. As expected, I have some drone between about 1500 and 3000 rpms. My question is how to fix this. I’m considering glass packs, or pypes m80 or whatever else you guys may recommend as a mid muffler setup. Does anyone have any input on how to get rid of this drone? I don’t mind making it a bit quieter in general, I just enjoy the better tone and some volume without the factory mufflers. Thanks in advance for any input!
I have muffler deletes and m80s on my 07 gt and theres a bit of drone. To really get rid of it you need a set of mufflers or try out welding in a set of resonance chambers.
Thanks For the input. Could you give me an example of some resonance chambers I could look into? Thanks! Trying to keep the price a little lower than the Borla
I believe your 2014 V6 model already has resonators. If so,they're located directly after the converters. After the converters, the pipe diameter drops to 2.25" for a couple inches, then it increases again. This increase is where the resonator begins. The picture below is a 2013 V6 & you can see the resonators after the converters.
I think the Borla S Type and Magnaflow Street Series sound almost the same. Here is a video I made with my MPT Ghost Cam Tune and Magnaflow Street axle backs. I have long tube headers and a catted x-pipe...
