Little is know about the ownership history of this car. What we do know is I'm the 3rd or so owner of this vehicle and a very good friend of mine owned it before me. The original owner of the car swapped it from a Automatic to a Manual, and did a pretty good job at it. Still has some quirks: speed-o doesn't match road speed, CEL for trans code, etc. Overall, it was a solid car.

My buddy owned it for about a year and some change before I did. I used to own a 2000 Camaro Z28. I had nothing but issues with that car and decided to trade him my Z28 for his GT. He wanted a quick sale, and his GT wasn't it. The car had a spun bearing, or so he thought, and had shifting issues with 3rd/4th/5th gear. Considering his urgent need for cash and the fact that I hated my Z28, we traded.

After tearing the car apart, we discovered that the rod bearings were in okay shape, but needed to be replaced and a little polishing action done. Cleaned up the journals, plopped some new bearings in...good to go. Along with the trade, he threw in some parts he had collected. Namely, some bad ass Hooker Super Comp long tubes. Digging into the transmission, we found out that the shifting issues were due to a broken 3rd/4th shift fork. Knowing this, I picked up some billet shift forks for 1/2 and 3/4 along with some carbon synchros.

The car should be back together here soon and back on the road and I couldn't be more excited. Stay tuned for more updates as this car goes on a journey it should have gone on long ago.
