ok so i have a question when i shift to 2nd gear when the car is cold it seems to grind. does this happen with anybody elses?

Like grinding in the shifter or can you feel the grinding in the clutch?

The stock transmission in your 2000 Mustang is the T-5. It's not a rare issue that the 2nd gear synchro is a bit worn out. Try changing your transmission fluid; and on cold days, start the car and run through all of the gears with the car sitting still to get the fluid flowing through the transmission.

Just to the right of that and above that in BOLD letters sais "03 GT manual tranny". You think he posted that for shits and giggles?

Oops, chillax honey, guess I didn't see that. There was a technical bulletin from Ford for the 3650 that called for changing the fluid level to 3.2 quarts. That'll help a little, though the 3650 is notorious for the synchros having tourettes in cold weather.
